The Sundered Goddess and Queen of All Magic, Twilight Sparkle, has reunited with one of the 24 Fragments of the Sundered Goddess: Okami Amaterasu. She has to fulfill all of Amaterasu's duties. Finding a foalsitter for Amaterasu's son, Chibi, is one of those duties.

This is a quasi-crossover. It features Ammy and Chibi, but they are given different back stories and treated as parts of the universe. They never had their adventures in Nippon, hence the lack of a [Crossover] tag. Edit: moderators made me add the crossover tag.

Wow, this story seems interesting. I like how Chibi ,melted the hearts of many mares, particularly Apple Bloom and Fluttershy, via cuteness. I also found it hilarious that Twilight has memories of Celestia with Ammy (didn't see that coming
) and that Fenrir had a threesome with Celestia and Luna, which would give Twilight a few nightmares once she merges with him. Since this is the first of your stories I've read, is there any depicting the Princesses' dating life or how a Twilight became a goddess?
5572265 This is the first published story set in this AU. Both of my other stories are based on a different mythology. I have another story in this AU that is 75% complete. Its tone is much more serious than this one as it deals with a worshiper of the Sundered Goddess trying to repent for her sins.
I tried to give a brief overview of the mythos at the start, but here are few more details.
Ammy being a former lover with Celestia is based on how Ammy showed signs of interest in two female characters in Okami. She was panting when she saw Sakuya's restored form, and she openly stared at Priestess Rao's bust.
Fenrir dating Celestia and Luna came about because I had Fenrir as the father of all canine gods/demigods and I briefly speculated that Ammy may be the son of Celestia and Fenrir. I scrapped that idea when I decided that Ammy is a Fragment.

Fluttershy occasionally has to deal with sides of the animal kingdom that are not cute, i.e. pregnant animals giving birth, predator/prey relationships, mercy killing an old/sick/injured creature. She has not experienced the concentrated cuteness that is Dinky.

5830482 Headcanon time. I believe that the rest of the world sees the continent of Equestria the same way the ponies see the Everfree. It is bordered by glacial tundra, lifeless wastelands, and riddled throughout with eldritch forests. The entire continent is virtually uninhabitable. Throughout history, several nations have attempted to establish colonies in Equestria. Each colony was destroyed by feral dragons, demons, monsters, and who knows what else. Put another way, the continent of Equestria is the equivalent of Australia, if Australia was populated by creatures from Tuchanka (Mass Effect reference).
The ponies managed to establish a civilization on the continent thanks to divine intervention. Otherwise, they would have been rendered extinct by the monsters there.
Celestia and Luna had nothing to do with making the sphinxes live in a desert region.

The Royal Guard is more for show than military application. That is why they lose fights. Most of the quality soldiers are off keeping Equestria from being torn apart by the monsters.

Also, I don't think Zocarik means the border guards. The ones trying to keep Equestria safe from monster would be the ones guarding the forests, swamps, mountains, and other such places. In total, the borders are probably less of a worry for them since no one else could use the territory since no one else knows how to deal with it. Just my theory. Until next time,

6789057 Put simply, preforming miracles and other tasks to help mortals is the equivalent of running a political campaign, with the goal of getting the mortals to worship and serve the god. The labors on behalf of mortals are akin to investing some resources with the expectation that the mortals will later pay it back via worship.
Some actions, particularly those of the warrior gods like Fenrir, are simply part of fighting the demon war and fixing the damage after the battles.

This is an AU of physical gods. The cult thing is similar to a fan club with religious elements, and evolves into a proper religion if it can last more than a century and gain approval from the patron god.
