Great Expectations

Soarin' and Rainbow are expecting their first child. And since both parents are Wonderbolts, everyone expects the baby to follow in their hoofsteps, especially Rainbow. But once the baby is born, Dash's whole idea of parenthood is turned upside down, and she has to cope with the new creative challenges of raising their child.

Quite cute, well written, and actually would like to have more. Would rather this be longer with a SoarinDash relationship prequel or a parenthood sequel.

Only downside is that the description gives away the biggest part of this story. If you don't tell us in the description that the colt is an earth pony, it would be a little better, in my opinion.

... Okay, considering Rainbow's personality, is it really... really bad that I can picture Scout growing up as a fast running Earth Pony? You know, like TF2s Scout.

...sidenote: It's still way to early for me to be thinking, I think.

Also touches upon a neat idea that things aren't always clear between the different breeds/tribes. Well done, was a fun read.

This is a good slice-of-life story. I agree with 5551973, though, that you should take the modest spoiler out of the summary, if you're going to leave it as a one-shot. If you're going to turn it into a series, then it's not as big a deal.
