As Crimson woke up, she rubbed her head in annoyance. Today, it was going to be cloudy and chilly. What a day for her. The clouds, to her, would taunt her fears, make her want to fly, but she couldn't. She didn't want to. As she sat up and moaned, a "pretty-boy" voice echoed through her room:
"You look quite amusing when you wake up, Red Crow."
Crimson bounced up and looked around to find the source of the voice, holding her triple-segmented weapon.
"It's funny, how many fell to me because they were too stupid to look in three-dimensions."
Crimson looked up to see a pony hidden underneath a black cloak. He was wearing a rather typical black hat with a long "disk" covering most of his head. Only his equally black eyes could be seen through anything. As he chuckled, a feint *click* sound was heard, and he fell to the ground. As the cloak flew up into the air, one could see that about this stallion, whether it was his coat, his mane, or his storm-cloud cutie-mark.
"Ah? You must be Black Cloud."
"Yes. And you must be the lovely 'Red Crow'. The one who single-hoofedly caused turmoil between two neighboring countries on the outskirts of Equestria...or so I've heard." he said, imitating a holder of a glass full of fine wine.
"What's it to you. I don't have time to mess around with foalish stallions such as yourself."
Crimson started to walk forward, but found herself flung into the air and thrown against the wall. She was now dangling in the air.
"Ah. I forgot to tell you. My expertise is in traps and ambushes. I also seem to have such a fine charisma, that so many mares might. Adore. Me." he said as he slowly approached Crimson's face.
Some mares might have been impressed by his "dark and mysterious" looks, but Crimson was much different. She immediately broke out of the trap, landed on Cloud's head, and bucked him hard, smashing his head into the ground.
"Hmph. If it's to be a runner, then there's no point in having somepony like you here. By the way, where did the boss say you'd stay?"
"Here." Black Cloud struggled to announce as he pulled his head out of the ground.
"Sorry, but that's what he told me." Cloud put a sinister look on his face. "Are we going to sleep in the same bed?"
"Buck no! You sleep downstairs, or better yet, find your own place!"
"Sorry, but those were the orders. Besides, I've been told you need help with a certain "issue". Perhaps I can sort that out?"
"You know quite well which one. Besides, Le couvent du crépuscule wouldn't be able to deal with a pegasus that can't fly. Unlike me." Black Cloud spread his wings out proudly.
They looked like a black mist ready to engulf everything around them whole.
"Good. Now then, we must befriend a certain character by the name of "Twilight Sparkle" who lives in the library next door, no?"
"Then we need a proper disguise. Hmmm, I was thinking about two lo-"
"Before you even THINK about finishing your sentence, know that I will cut out your tongue and make you swallow it if the word starting with "lo" is what I think it is."
Crimson was looking over a cowering Cloud. But he regained his posture and smiled a bit.
"True. There must be much better mares out there than you." he said as he twisted his head affrontedly
"What? Why you...!"
"How about two friends coming over to live here for now? Until I can get my own house, I'm forced to live with you."
The Red Crow sat upon her perch and started to inspect the surroundings. After a good train of thought, she agreed to this matter.
"Great! Then let's get going."
Twilight was trying to get over what she did, and the help of Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy was useful. After what Applejack told Twilight yesterday, coming to her house with a masked face, she knew she had to do something. She was busy looking in old spell-books for some way to trap Psycho, or at least find a way to slow him down.
"Hey Twilight, why not just have a little party? It'll help you calm your nerves." Pinkie Pie said as she blew a party whistle.
"I don't have time for that Pinkie Pie! I have to find a way to stop that crazy pony!"
"Well, if you don't relax, you're the one who might become crazy." Fluttershy calmly announced.
What the cream-colored pegasus said shocked Twilight, who remembered what Psycho had told her:
"-I've found the one with hidden insanity!"
"You're right. I need to relax and keep a calm mind."
"You said it. First, you've been moping around, and then you suddenly become crazy." Spike said seriously.
"What? It's true."
"Who could that be?" Twilight asked herself.
"I got it, I got it!" Spike roared as he rushed to the door.
As he opened it up, expecting it to be Rarity or just some random pony, he was fixed with blood colored eyes almost as frightening as Nightmare Moon’s, if not scarier.
"Yes. Is Twilight Sparkle here?" the pegasus said quite frighteningly.
Spike could barely say anything, which led to Cloud intervening, his costume apparently tearing away the fears that Spike had with the Red Crow.
"Please excuse my friend. She is quite...um...how would you say...straight to the point."
"I n-noticed that."
Crimson Gaze was staring at Black Cloud's head in full fury. How DARE he interrupt her?
"May we come in?"
"Uh, hold on. Twilight!"
"Who is it Spike?"
"Isn't this a public library?" Cloud said in a soothing tone. Spike hit his forehead.
"That's true. I forgot." he said as he opened the door, letting the visitors in. "I forget because nopony ever comes here. That, and Twilight and I live here too. So..."
One the muzzle of Crimson passed through the door, Pinkie Pie bounced up in joy.
"It's Crimson! It's Crimsooooon!"
"Oh no." the pegasus moaned.
Black Cloud laughed whole-heartedly at the scene of the fearful "Red Crow" standing in place furiously as the Pink pony bounced around her "friend" joyfully.
"Who would you be?"
"Oh! Excuse my manners. First, allow me to remove my hat."
The Cloud did just that, revealing his dark demeanor. His mane seemed to have been folded back by some type of invisible gel. His black eyes screamed of audacity and demands of fear, yet, they seemed to illuminate something within the hearts of Fluttershy and Twilight.
"I am Tempest, and my friend over there, as you heard, is called Crimson Gaze. We are new neighbors."
"Oh. So you two are the ones living in the house that was just built next door."
"Yes. We just wanted to stop by and say hello. I hope that we become good neighbors and get to know each other much better."
"So...I know this is a personal question, but, are you two..."
"NO!" yelled Crimson furiously. She didn't dare move as she knew that this pink pony would grab her in a hug if she moved.
Heheh. No. We are just "friends". What's with your friend there?"
"Oh. That's Fluttershy. She is quite..."
"Shy? NONSENSE!" the stallion shouted with a stomp to the ground.
He quickly approached the pegasus who was on the ground and shielding her face with both hooves and mane. Cloud picked her up with his wings and held her in a romantic pose. He was starting to "dance" with her, much to the displeasure of Crimson.
"Somepony like you shan't be shy! You don't need to be. Your radiance is the one rendering everypony else in a state of utter disbelief and babbling."
"And your voice is like the soothing caress of a stream. Take into yourself and release all of your shyness! It might not happen right away, but you will eventually feel yourself getting better at meeting somepony else. Perhaps, the "special" one?" he said leaning close to Fluttershy, who started to blush.
"Enough of that." Twilight said while laughing. “I think you should go. Your friend looks like she's about to explode."
Cloud turned around to see that Twilight was right.
"Indeed. Well then." he said while putting his hat back on "I believe that we will indeed leave. I hope that we will become good friends in the future."
"So do I."
"Come on Crimson." he said joyfully.
They both left the library with Crimson stomping furiously, even outside.
"Well...they were special." Twilight mocked.
"Yeah. Tempest looks AWESOME! You think Rarity would like the way I would look in that?" Spike threw his arm in front of his face, acting like he had a cape.
"Hahaha! No. You'd look silly." Pinkie Pie said in laughter. Spike slouched in lack of confidence.
"Yeah. Thanks a lot Pinkie Pie."
"And what about you Fluttershy? ...Fluttershy?" Twilight turned around to see that the pegasus was daydreaming about something.
Spike and Pinkie leaned over to see the pegasus all red and with a silly look on her face. She was infatuated, it would seem.
In the skies above Ponyville flew what seemed to be a bolt colored like a rainbow. It was streaking above the thick clouds created by Cloudsdale. It was a pegasus, none other than Rainbow Dash. As she continued to soar through the sky, she saw something pinkish bouncing on the clouds.
"Pinkie Pie?" she thought to herself.
Meanwhile, in Disirva, the contact of the Red Crow was sitting in his office. He had moved his oak desk and all his office-ware aside, leaving place to what looked like a triangle of stones. Suddenly, these stones illuminated, and the heads of several ponies appeared and floated above the triangle. They all bowed at the one sitting in his comfortable chair.
"We have a problem." he said " The target has escaped and is currently free within Equestria. My personal employee, the Red Crow, has failed to apprehend him thus forth. Therefore I sent the Black Cloud to aid her."
The ponies all nodded and agreed with each other. An old sounding mare spoke:
"Ah. The Black Cloud. His expertise in traps should be enough to stop him. We need his powers. With them, we can overthrow the princesses and begin our rule."
"Such nonsense. You all know as well as I do that he will not harm them, let alone think badly of those two. Although, some of my sources say that he has fallen in love with a mare from Ponyville.” said another stallion.
The mumbling started to become unbearable, and the stallion in the room yelled:
"Silence! What do you mean? The two agents are in Ponyville. How could we not have learned of this sooner?"
"I am sorry, chief, but he is very quick and discreet. If you will allow me?"
"Go ahead." the "chief" said with a movement of his hoof.
Several images showing the stallion walking on the sides of the library showed that he would frequently stare at something within it.
"Not possible. The librarian? The one who tried to "return him to normal"? Oh! This is perfect! I will send the news to our agents. This will be quite the feat. This council is adjourned. Thank you for this information."
"No problem, Chief."
"And stop calling me chief."
"...I hate that guy."
The others quickly disappeared as well, not bothering with their boss' reaction. He was quite happy at these turns of events. Things seemed to have been going smoother than initially expected
