    The Psychopath's Stories (39)

    x

It was a beautiful day in Equestria at the mage's tower near the Everfree forest. Many unicorns came and went from the giant palace. Hence, it may have been called a "tower", but it was more of a stone palace with decorative figures, such as gargoyles and goblins. Deep within the bowels of the site of magical culture, resided a strange mare in her office. This place was outlined with black metal-like bricks. Several shelves were stocked with books, while desks of a red oak had to stay up with the weight of thousands of pieces of paper and documents weighed upon them. Several scrolls and parchments of extreme age and deterioration dotted the walls as well. Every nook and cranny of this office was filled up.

Near the only free desk sat a brown mare who seemed to have been going through some extremely rough times. It was Pandora. She was shaking tremendously, and seemed to be writing in a journal. Once she finally finished, an explosion was heard in the hallway behind her.

"I'm too late. I've gotta hurry to the protected basement pathways. The golem should keep the others out." she thought to herself.

Kicking the door down, she flung through the insanity going on in the tower. Everypony in there was going nuts. Some were even messing around with potions they weren't supposed to, causing tremendous catastrophes in the process. Some weird fleshy substance even started to grow along the outer-walls of the palace, and other mages were transformed into some strange creatures that one would prefer not to describe.

As Pandora continued down the lower levels, one would think that the chaos brought would actually start to affect her too. This was a subsidiary effect of somepony trying to control the magics of Discord long since lost within time. However, Pandora seemed to have been invisible to the surrounding creatures and monstrosities, while others, who slammed out of their offices or rooms, twisting their heads in pain as they started to become insane. The mare hurried even further, until some type of giant plant creature with several heads blasted through the floor and caused her to fall down it's vines onto the lowest floor of the palace.

"The Ivamora? How is this even possible? It hasn't noticed me yet, and it even allowed me to reach the basement entrance too!"

The brown unicorn broke down the door and was about to race down the steps, only to find that it had been blocked off by some weird yellow bubbles.  She turned back around and headed to where she knew there was a "secret" entrance. She turned around the corners of the bright, black hallways, finally stopping at what seemed to be a saddened head. She checked around quickly, panting in distress, and knocked on the eye right of her. The mouth opened, and she jumped in. As she slid down, she fell upon a gelatinous substance, one that was never there before.

Seeing that the purple flames were all already lit up, the mare ran down the corridor, and noticed that the typical entrance that she would have taken was destroyed. Ignoring this fact, she stopped immediately as she saw the charred body of the tower's treasure hunter. He was the one who searched for artifacts for everypony in the palace. He seemed to arbor the look of somepony having just become insane. As Pandora put a hoof to her mouth in shock, she backed up to an otherwise normal looking door, but was quickly grabbed by a giant stone hand that came out of the door.

As Pandora struggled to get out of the hand, she was lifted up to the creature's face. It was the protective golem of the sacred chambers. The unicorn stared in horror at this thing.

    "Oh no. Not you too!"

"No. I am not. Affected by these magics. For I am neither dead. Nor alive. You must continue. To the altar. And place your book there for. Future generations. Of ponies to know. The World of Illogic. Protects you. Today."

"Is that why even the Ivamora didn't attack me?" she asked as she tilted her head.

The golem nodded in response, and lowered Pandora towards the altar. She looked back up at it again as the golem placed itself back against the wall. The brown unicorn took a book out from her bag and placed it on the altar. She finished writing some things on it, then tried to move away. Suddenly, the mare felt herself getting lift up by something, and found herself screaming for the golem's help as she struggled to get away from the book. Her efforts were in vain, as the golem did nothing and only watched her as she was finally sucked within the book, which clapped shut.

"Hmm. She was pretty nice, and she seemed devoted in learning about the World of Illogic...might as well protect her until the time comes where she will be fit to join. Hmhmhahaha!

Twilight started to read through the pages of the journal, much to the intrigue of Rainbow Dash and Spike.

    "Let's see...hmmm...ah! It starts here."

The studying of arcane arts and interactions with other worlds is quite amusing. Since I was a little filly, I was always intrigued by what had seen so much time, and also, what other worlds could be like...

    "What's wrong?" Spike asked.

"Some of the pages are too old to be read. Sorry."

    "That's okay. Keep reading through!"

"As I look upon the spell made to resurrect the dead, I decided that this is a spell that should stay lost forever.  One must not go against the laws of Mother Nature lest thou cope with terrible consequences. That is the first rule of a mage. However, these spells here are very interesting. Just controlling small portions of weather could be lots of fun. I'll have to try them out eventually.”

    ...............

I have discovered that, within specific time periods, and sometimes, during special occasions, our world starts to interact with another. These "Pole strings", as I call them, have the same magnetic capabilities as the poles of our world. They need some form of magic unknown as of yet to be interacted with. Perhaps Starswirl the Bearded and O'Connor the Thoughtful will aid me in these tasks?

    ....................

As I continue to research these worlds, there is one in particular that remains connected to Equestria and seems to randomly jump about. It is completely illogical and irrational that such a thing can be possible. I go now to study it as it stays in front of the Mage's tower.

    .................

I have yet to understand who this "Psychopath" is, but he seems intent on having me join his "World of Illogic", or whatever it is. He seems to be trapped somewhere, and appears to be overly protective of the princesses when I mention them. He called them "Tia-Tia" and "Woona". The gall! However, as the days pass by, I seem to notice that he is capable of interacting with surrounding objects at will, and has been entering the dreams of my fellow mages. I pray that they do not fall to his temptations.

    ....................

"Psycho", as I have come to call him, doesn't seem to try and harm anypony despite his shenanigans throughout the tower. However, his "powers" seem severely limited and extremely drained, yet, he only comes to me more often than the others. I wonder why.

    ...................

I have learned that these worlds have some sort of "timer" to them. Once you enter, you might never leave. Once you exit, you might never return. However, there have been those who get stuck in between and seem to fuse with the energies of the other worlds. There are some that disappear forever, while very few return. I have learned of this from Starswirl, who has proven my theories by admitting that he too was once trapped like that. It may not have gifted him his incredible abilities, but it affected him in some other way.  His lost parchments are quite useful sometimes.

I wonder if this "Psychopath" met the same fate...

    ..................

It has happened. The one thing I feared more than an unknown death. One of my partners, Cilliscyle, was messing around with leftover magic from Discord, and dropped the vial while I was there. The chaos has spread throughout the tower, affecting everything except me for some reason. I will go to the sacred chambers where the golem of protection resides, and place this book there for the future generations, hoping that time will not degrade it too much.

I now stand near the altar, having survived so many perils in this place, such as the Ivamora. I still do not understand why it is here. I write this for you to know that "The Psychopath" will be hunted by many if word of this tragedy gets out. His powers are unlike anything I have ever known. If he is capable of being even further corrupted, he might be able to cause mass devastation throughout the whole of our world. Although, he doesn't seem evil, as, apparently told by the golem of protection, he was protecting me. I still don't understand the mind of that stallion. Perhaps he is the true incarnation of the "World of Illogic".

Here is a list of spells that could certainly stop him:

    "Gaior Fumat"

This one stops anything currently happening. I have not yet understood it's methods.

    "Kilimir Evasnom Noova"

A weirdly named one. It apparently causes him great distress whenever I pronounce it. Something about it just scares him outright.

    "Lux Terrarorium"

This one combines both light and earth for a mighty spell. While it certainly cannot stop him outright, it can certainly slow Psycho down.

Each of these spells was followed by a short number of recipes or a specific manner of casting, except for the fourth one.

This spell was spelled very strangely to Twilight, who noticed that the writing was much more scribbly than the previous.

    Pandora's Paradox.

"Huh? Why is it spelt in our language?" Twilight thought out loud.

"I dunno. Is there anything else?" Rainbow Dash asked eagerly.

Twilight flipped the pages over eagerly, only to see that there was nothing after that despite the thickness of the book.

    "No. Sorry."

"Awww." Spike and Rainbow moaned together.

As Twilight continued to flip through the pages, she noticed that a mark appeared. It looked like a spark covered by a wand, and it started to glow violently.

"W-w-what's going on Twilight?" Spike stuttered as he moved slowly backwards.

    "I still don't know!"

Suddenly, everyone in the room was blinded, and a loud *thud* was heard.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" screamed Crimson, literally shaking the whole town.

She was in the showers at her new home. Cloud was leaning against the wall as he waited with a stupid look on his face.

"Did you need to yell like that?" Cloud asked.

    "Yes!"

Crimson jumped out of her shower, dripping wet.

    "LOOK AT ME!"

    "That, I am. Mhmm."

    *PUNCH*

    "OW! What was that for?!"

"I look like that irritating Pinkie Pie now!"

"Yes. Yes you do." He agreed with a serious nodding.

Crimson Gaze was about to pound his head in, but Cloud avoided the strike.

"Well, since you won't be leaving for now, I suggest we start working on your fears. This house will work perfectly."

Crimson lowered her hoof and gave an accepting look. She would have to face something she didn't like, but it was worth it if she could fly.

Meanwhile, Rarity was too busy with a new line of dresses that she had to make that she didn't even notice the brouhaha happening outside. As she was messing around with some ribbons, she suddenly realized that she had forgotten something, and quickly ran upstairs to get said object. Bad idea.

The sound of a quiet alarm could be heard as Psycho rose slowly out of the ground and looked at his environment. Once the elevating was complete, he put his hat back on his head and rubbed his front hooves together menacingly.

"Dadada!" Rarity sang as she came back downstairs with several ribbons and fabric of varied colors. "HmhmhmhMOMMIGOSH!"

Everything fell to the floor as her jaw dropped and her eye started to twitch. Everything was all disorientated and the dresses were hashed and rehashed together to form ugly abominations.

"What kind of a madpony would do this?"

    "Hmhmha..."

    "Huh?"

The white unicorn looked up to see that some weird stallion was on the roof.

    "What the..."

"I can twist my head." he said before literally twisting it all the way around. This shocked Rarity who was about to vomit. "Ah? You need a makeover. BANZAI!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" yelled some voices from out of nowhere.

Rarity was trying to get this crazy stallion off of her, but he kept jabbing something into her hair, which, quite quickly, exploded into green smoke. As Psycho jumped out of the green cloud, he put a hoof to his chest then raised it high as he said:

"My people need me...EXCELSIOR!" he yelled as he jumped sideways out of a nearby window.

"What did he do to me? I must see!"

Rarity quickly scampered up and levitated a mirror to her face, only to scream in horror at what Psycho did to her mane and tail.
