Thanks! This is kind of inspiring me to do more scenes like this, set after other episodes and commenting on the action. (In my headcanon their friends know about their relationship, but neither Dash or AJ likes to get lovey-dovey in front of other ponies.) I might even do that as one post with chapters, each chapter being a scene for a different episode.

This is the kind of romance I like. It's cute, but there's actually a point to all that cuteness. Although it's a common issue posed in shipfics, it's unique because of how it intertwines with canon.

Yeah, FlutterDash isn't really one of my favorite ships.

Let's be clear; I love Pinkie, I really do. I just find it easier to think of her with somepony like Dash or Cheese Sandwich rather than Twilight.
Not that I won't read one that shows her softer side. There is this one FlutterPie fic that was really good.
I guess Flutters is better shipped with Twilight, Rarity, Discord, or Mac than anything else.

Inspired, I think, by the famous counting contest that Legolas and Gimli have in Lord of the Rings. I could very easily see Applejack and Rainbow Dash doing the same thing.
