Edit: I just read the first 3 chapters of the first Haylo. I think you really do need an editor. Just saying. The story shows a lot of potential and you did grow a LOT from that time. It provides a lot of insight on writing technices and all that marble jarble. It really helped me out and I feel it would with you as well. Also, don't blow off what other people tell you. In fact if people say bad things about it then just fix what you did. I saw that you acknoledged your grammar issue in the comments when writing the first Haylo. So why not take the chance and let someone edit your stuff? It is a great idea and will probably take your mediocre story and make it (Maybe) EQD quality.

An amazing story so far

It seems a bit over exaggerated on the space battle, during Onyx and Reach, the UNSC wiped out Covenant ships in a ratio of 2:1 (I think) so it looks like the UNSC will win this, especially with the might of over 250 ODP's.

Also, one thing I never understood, why don't they ever just start nuking everywhere when they're losing?

Character: Rooks 'Shark' Finman

Personality: Rough around the edges, considered the 'Rookie' type. Quiet, self-calculating, and most of all, deadly. Tanned upper body, pale lower half, except for his calfs and feet. Wears greyish-green armor, with his sergeant patches showing. He is the type of man you would want next to you on the battlefield, shooting his rifle, and killing enemies. Although he is of the quiet type, he speaks sometimes in short sentences. 

Note: Considered 'rookie of the group' by many soldiers, as he hasn't been in many conflicts, is very young, and very, very quiet. Almost disturbingly quiet, as if he is plotting the death of each and every enemy he faces.

Short History: No one knows where 'Shark' came from, only that he is a damn fine soldier. Although little is known, he has told his squad that he once had a job as a competitive shooter, mostly with rifles, being the best with his BR-55. While serving on a destroyer, a plasma missile sailed into the port, throwing shrapnel into his neck and face. Miraculasly (happy terrible spelling day on my ipod) he survived, though the wound itches from time to time.

Preferance: BR-55 Battle rifle, for medium engagements, Modified standard-issue magnum, and a Ka-Bar. Specializes at medium range combat, never being one to be up in an enemies face.

hmmm... more of this would be nice, though I am curious as to what ever happened with Celestia (I reference my statement in the first story about her regenerative power) and how long it will be til the remaining elements get back together.

As for an OC... I has none.

Well, I did have one Elite I was considering... but I'm not sure about him. No pony characters to speak of, and some of my other characters added to this would be absurd...

So let my just make sure I got this right... Twilight is a captain, Fluttershy is a medic somewhere, the CMC are now spartans, and Luna's only an admiral? I would have expected her to be in the leadership of the UNSC... perhaps she's leading from the front? Considering how pissed she must be at the covenant, it makes sense she'd go and play empress of destruction upon those brute fools...

What else... Marker still has no more info on it (but really... ponies, spartans, and elites versus necromorphs? that's a bit much... it'd be easier to believe the flood are still around on an isolated Haylo somewhere... there ARE 7 of the bloodie things), OCs are spawning like rabbits, and in some cases dropping like flies... What about Equis? The covenant couldn't possibly glass the whole thing... even the manuals agree they don't have the firepower! Why has it not been retaken? fortified like earth?

And how did the covies rally so quickly? 90% of the Prophets died with High Charity, and the brutes' tribal structure makes it hard for large fleets to gather. The Jackals are PIRATES more than warriors, and they'd leave the Covenant at the drop of a hat if the government collapsed... and the grunts? They hate everything. I must have answers to these questions... they gnaw at my mind.

Well I've never done this before but I'll give it a shot.

Earthpony, brown coat, brown mane...and you guessed it! Brown eyes.

He is the same age and size as the mane six.

His cutie mark is a 5.56mm round standing, the tip pointing upwards.

He's smart and resourceful (when he wants to be) he's an idealist, poetic, lazy as times, and a team player. He is hopelessly clumsy, gets frustrated easily, he's sarcastic, and can be very simple-minded as times.

He is also analytical, and is an amateur tactician.  And because of that, he has a HUGE crush on Twilight.

His fighting style is a mix of a regular soldier and a CIA agent.  

His weapons usually consist of standard assault rifles, but he loves to use suppressed sub-machine-guns and pistols. If he has a gun...chances are he put a suppressor on it.

He also prefers stealth and avoiding detection. He uses knives and even throwing stars for close combat. He is a master fencer but hardly ever gets to show it off in combat.  He always carries sticky C4 charges and plants them on enemy equipment as he advances.

His physical strength is decent but not the best, but he makes up for it. In close combat he fights with finesse and skill rather than brute strength or power.

He usually wears a simple ABU cap and a headset with a mic attached to it.  He also wears green-lit NVG's but only puts them over his eyes when he needs them.

He is usually used as a standard soldier, except that he also collects Intel while he's on a mission.

His parents were killed during an "ethnic cleansing" campaign carried out by zebras in his country back on Equis. He's not an Equestrian pony, though he's like one, except more "in your face" and prone to violence.

bio:his parents were killed in front of him by a brute and two minor grunts who were laughing in his face, later that day a spartan found him with the brutes spiker defending his house against a large group of grunts.The spartan assisted and got a distressed child aboard a pelican. the child wasn't applicable to the spartan program, but he showed an unrivaled ability to understand machines and technology. this was spotted by a marine sergeant who observed him slowly repair the pelican that rescued him to the amazement of others+a spartan, after it took a hit to the control pad on the door, and adding an improvement to its fuel intake system. he was trained since then until he was of the age of 18. On the ship harmony a spartan was bragging about when assisted in the battle for earth (human planet) when Jacob challenged him to a simulated gunfight. The spartan laughed at him and accepted the challenge. The next day Jacob was able to overcome the spartan using a shotgun and a rope attached to a warthog and a lot of gory make up. when he was sent on to the planet Earth (equestria) to aid in the rescue of 200,000 ponies. his platoon was under fire  and he managed to charge the brute chieftain killing him with his shotgun and then using it as a shield against the enemies plasma fire before his platoon finished off the leaderless group. his abilities to use everything around him at times is sometimes amazing and at others... downright MAD. (hence the nickname)

Characteristics: Unusually pale, due to the armor he wears, which covers most of his body for optimum flame resistance. Heavily muscled, and not that stealthy. He is very cold calculating during battles, His teammates often describe his eyes as "Cold and Uncaring" in the middle of battle, he will do anything to save any Marine, ODST, and Civilian he can, due to his parents death at the hands of the Covenant. He is a master tactitian, ruthless to any enemies, always taking the more efficient route, if forced to take command. Part of his reason for taking the nickname "Hellfire" was because that's the last vessel his brother was seen on alive.

A respected soldier for his skills and kindness even though he his a stallion of few words. His mane and tail are a grey color with a streak of red running through them. His coat is a deep shade of navy blue. His eye's are also blue. Lost his daughters on equestria during covenant attack. A spartan saved his life but it cost the spartan his own. Ghost took the spartan's helmet and swore he would avenge avenge his daughters and Spartan 219 'Archangel'. Ghost now wears archangel's helmet every day, only taking it off to shower and eat.

Personality (or is it ponyality?): tends to be a bit of a hotheat when he is in the heat of battle, But outside of battle he is calm, cool, and colective... Until someone makes of his apperiance. When that happens... lets just say you don't want to be unfortunate enough to be near him when that happens.

Bio:

If there was one word that could describe him then I wouldn't need to type this. He is a man with many good traits and annoyances. His most noticeable is his obsession with twenty first century music and entertainment, leaving him to make comments and other references that no one understands. One of the good traits though is that he is known as the survivor. I shall par-tell why later. He specializes in mechanics, close quarters combat, and inside arctic environments. His favorite weapon is the MA5D assault rifle, but doesn't like the saw because of its long reload time. His other weapons are: 1 plasma pistol (For disabling vehicles), 1 energy sword (always kept on his right side), and a M45D tactical shotgun. He is also fairly proficient with sniper rifles when the situations demand so, but other wise stays with close quarters. On a side note he never uses a jet pack unless he absolutely has to.

The reason for his title for survivor:

During his time on installation 03, the gamma halo ring, he was forced to change into all defender armor. From there the installation 03 indecent happened. The flood in hibernation were disturbed and his team and him fought through hell itself under the surface of the ring in the architecture trying to survive and reach the surface to get a signal to the UNSC Frigate in orbit. Though fighting valiantly his whole team was picked off one by one till only him and his brother, Chris, remained. Together they fought off the flood at the evacuation site, boarded the pelican, and was taking taking off when it happened. A flood pure form latched onto the back of the pelican before the doors could shut, it was here that Spartan Chris made the ultimate sacrifice. With both of them out of ammo Chris looked at his brother and gave the parting words, "Have a good life little bro." before charging the pure form and taking both it and himself back to the churning masses bellow.

After the incident Chase customized his armor with one piece from each member of his six man squad, his helmet, secondary color, and visor being his brothers.

The 03 incident was only half the reason for his title the other half was from his next deployment, a small farming world Deaustrose (De-aww-strose) where he was deployed as part of a new squad. His mission was to destroy UNSC classified information, and evacuation any personnel still alive, from a secret ONI building in the northern ice caps of the region. Due to Covenant glassing in the area the power to the facility had been cut, so the odds of anyone being alive were slim. The plan had been to move in, destroy the building, and move out. If they were not out in one hour the UNSC specter in orbit would go for asset denial and nuke the facility... Things did not go as planned.

Covenant had invaded the building with out the Spartans knowledge before arrival and they walked right into an ambush situation. Chase was the only survivor. Covenant jamming devices had been hidden through out the area disrupting any and all communications in the area. Chase finished his mission and hijacked a near by, hidden, phantom just before the nuke was launched. He received the Colonial Cross for his efforts in both deployments, the last time such award was given was to Staff Sargent Avery Johnson. He was later offered a promotion to be a firing squad leader of which he denied stating, "The only reason I haven't bit my own bullet is because it wasn't me that lead either of those teams to there deaths."

Psychiatric review: All recent combat reviews point towards Chase having post traumatic stress disorder of which he hides with jokes and suicidal antics. Immediate psychological help recommend, before one of his suicidal antics get him hurt or worse.
