There is Always a Way

During a midnight flying session, Rainbow Dash thinks about her friends, her past, and the true meaning of loyalty. When things go wrong in the midst of a new stunt, she looks to the bravest pony she knows for hope.

(This is a repost of a story I had on EqD earlier, with some minor rewriting.)

That was a pretty good story but it had some logic flaws; like she should have tried to land on a cloud, and her wing being broken by a gust of wind (Seriously?). Anyway, it was good for what it was, Rainbow Dash's opinions and emotions were well portrayed and believable; overall a three and a half star rating from me.

Well written and interesting concept. Often when stories try to focus on flight accidents involving RD they tend to focus more on the impact on the ground than on what she's feeling on her way down. That's what made this different in a pleasant way. Nicely done.

The way she got out of it alive was a bit surprising to me as well but it felt rather plausible. I just wish she had told pinkie more about it for some reason... Ah well, good job.

Bonus points for Rainbow Dash not dying. Well written, emotional story. I totally didn't expect the ending.

>>xgfhj Given that clouds are pseudo-solid for Pegasi, it's likely she'd have cleared the sky before attempting tricks. It'd kinda suck to be stopped mid-stunt by slamming full-force into a cloud. As for the wing, RD herself states there that it's likely either a sprain or dislocation, and given that it was weakened by pulling up too hard from a botched dive, it's plausible for a strong enough gust to have done that.

Excellent story, I like how Rainbow decides to sacrifice herself rather than risking hurting somepony to break her fall. It reminds me of Chopper's thought-process in Ace Combat 5.
