If your friend is an alcoholic, loyalty is not helping them get more. Loyalty is not helping them hurt themselves.
Dash feels that Discord will just hurt Shy more. So she won't help Shy do something that will hurt her.
So much for Rainbow Dash being the Element of Loyalty.

Yeah, but she could be nicer about it, and she should at least go with her to protect her!
Of all of the ponies, Rainbow Dash is the one I would think of to go against Fluttershy the least. They're best friends, having known each other longer than anypony else, so I can't see why Dash would do that. I get that maybe she wants to not hurt Fluttershy by not helping, but even if she did, she wouldn't be that crude about it, especially to Fluttershy. RD would support her decision, and that's what I expected. I don't know, AJ seems like the one to reject the idea.
But I lay in anticipation of this cleared up a bit more. Hopefully we'll get a better explanation in the next chapter.

I'm really glad Twilight pointed out how no one outside of Fluttershy really gave Discord a chance. It annoyed me how from his reform to Tirek, everyone was always mad at Discord and close-minded. And even after Tirek, they still haven't softened as much as they should have.
