Sequel to The Republic.
After peace negotiations fail, the Lunar Republic falls back from Ponyville and into Appleoosa. Of the Mane Six, Luna's supporters decide to stay in Ponyville while Celestia unleashes the Royal Guard on the small town. The ensuing massacre leads to civil war, where Premier Luna uses her powers of state to build up an army to face Celestia's growing regime, the Solar Empire.
Through it all, Discord tries to protect Fluttershy from the brutality of the war by hiding the truth from her, and Twilight Sparkle begins a new religion recognizing Celestia as a divine being.

I appreciate the title suggestions, because I hate leaving half my chapter titles with stuff like "Chapter X", so I'll definitely take you up on your suggestions and mention you in the A/N. Next chapter I upload might be a little weird.
Already off to a great start. I was worried when I finished the first one that that was all we were getting. Then I noticed this and now I get to watch three princesses lose their minds. Yay.
I can totally see Pinkie saying that. I mean, she learns that her princess has lied to them for years, seriously considered some of her society's issues, and watched the royal guard kill people and wreck shit. It makes sense that even she would be serious after all that.

I like your interpretation on how the characters are dealing with what's happening. I'm half-expecting Celestia to turn into a Nightmare Moon-type alicorn, but I'll just have to wait and see.

Luna republic or Solar Empire they both have done horrible things but maybe it's time for a change Celestia herself admitted she has grown complacent. Luna didn't need to take it so far but maybe she had no choice Celestia has grown used to doing things a certain way and there country has stagnated democracy isn't a perfect system but when done properly it will force new ideas into the government whether they like it or not. I also don't find it surprising that twilight is now leading a cult (she maybe smart but her loyalty to celestia blinds her).

And I'd expect Rarity to have SOME sympathy for Luna after Nightmare Rarity. Fresh reminder of that should guarantee her to switch to Luna's side.

One huge suggestion I'd like to give is; have Rarity switch to Luna's side. All the stress she's being put under plus her time as Nightmare Rarity are excellent reasons for her to switch.

Few chapters ago, it was stated that Pinkie was with Applejack in the train car heading towards Appleloosa. Last chapter has her in Canterlot? How?
