Spike is an orphan who's hated and ostracized for being different. Fed up with the people of his home, Spike decides to leave in order to find a place where he's accepted. However, the day before he's set to leave, Spike comes across a certain lonely girl who will change his destiny forever.
Travel back 10 years from the start of Rise of the Elements and experience the very beginning of Spike's adventures with Twilight and the others. Discover the truth of Spike's origins as he struggles to understand what having a family really means.

Nice Chapter. It if funny that is how they met. It will be great to watch Spike and Dash bond. With Twilight being as sheltered as she is she wont pick up that the new girl around her is starting to like her 'little' brother (which lets face it he is really the older brother here) I wonder will Dash challenge Spike to a fight to see who is stronger lol.
Looks like the start of an interesting and action packed friendship/relationship. Anyway, I like the interaction between Spike and Twilight. A tough as nails, street smart kid who doesn't have much of a code of honor and the high moral nerd that can't run to save her life.

Well, looks like thing are looking up for them, though Spike probably wishing he could set them on fire right now.
While this does help build up this world and give a bit more background on history on the Kingdom Hearts universe it does raise a question. Why is Spike, a Dragonblood, living on that world and from the look of it he has been along from the get go?
My money his on that he was from another that got swallowed by darkness when he was really young and landed on Equis.
I'd find it ironic if Spike's world was engulf by darkness and he was given a keyblade form a younger Sombra. I'd imagine Sombra would have been a pinnacle of power to reach back than, in young Spikes eyes.

Either that or he was made via magic, I.E. Spike wasn't born naturally but was revived from old Dragonoidian cells mixed with human cells, of probably all three races to make the perfect being.

Lets think about it like this. Spike is the ONLY Dragonoid on Mage planet, so I'm pretty sure any mage involved in him creation would be able to keep an eye on him.
And you want to hear something hilariously ironic? What if there was a mark on his rear that was the tracker, but would probably only be seen by mages
It's nice to see this updated. It must be hard to write both two stories where they don't really seem to have an inbetween book to considered the original book. These seem to be like a prequel and a sequel. Good job so far.

7240774 Guessing the myth has to do with what happened in Rise, yanno the original reason they're looking for him there.
7242000 7240774 Yeah and because it probably wont be solved in this story I can straight up tell you the myth revolves around their worlds being engulfed by darkness. The myth suggesting that Spike will be at the center of it all. However I can say that it goes deeper than that and there is more to it than what Tall Tale read. So there's that to look forward to.

There's always myths about a group of people who abilities compliment each others. But, usually the myth centers around only a few members of said group. Now I just have to figure out what the myth actually is.

Well, while sad that recent events had Dash, Spike n' Twi leave Ms. Jade's shop/home earlier then they wanted
. At least they have each other for what may happen next down t line; plus it's cute to see t beginnings of D's supposed crush on Spike-o since it was hinted only a little here n' there in t other story 
or at least t last time I've read it anyways

I dunno, I always felt conflicted giving it one. The main story has one cuz it's directly based off of kingdom hearts. But this one is a prequel. There are no keyblades or dark realms nothing obvious really tying it to kingdom hearts themes except for friendship and the power of the heart, which mainline FIM already has.
