Equestria is a land of magic and mystery, and there are things that dwell within the veil of the night that nopony wishes to think of. Some, however, lack that luxury, either due to the rude intervention of fate, or due to being one of the very horrors themselves.

One such creature, a monster in the eyes of most, has been given an opportunity to see her life differently, if only for a brief time.

I feel rather dumb as I have zero clue what's going on. Most likely me, not you, friend.

However, I do like how it's told. Has a bit of chill to it indeed.

Well done!

Since the explanation comment was deleted, apparently...

It's a vampire story, and the one narrating it has been given a brief moment of mental clarity, in which she decides to ensure the curse cannot consume her once more.

I'll probably give a more complete explanation later, but that little bit should hopefully be enough for readers to decipher what is going on!

Sorry, deleted for a reason, back up now.

If anyone is confused by this story, it's about a vampire hunter who gets turned into a vampire. Another hunter comes after her and gives her her soul back for a short time, but gets killed in the process. The vampire then proceeds to commit suicide by sun goddess.

It's actually her daughter, not another Hunter. Everything is there, I think, to explain it

This has undergone quite a transformation since the writeoff version! It feels far more solid, and the explicitly Equestrian angle to it is a nice touch. Well done.

I had no idea what was going on when I read this either (I assumed she was an intangible Nightmare entity), but very well told, and very poetic. The way it was told felt a lot like something that belonged in Equestria's backstory. I like fiction that doesn't just hand all the answers, yet I expected a revelation to come within the narrative itself. Having read the spoilers in the comments and knowing the truth, it feels like a really good twist, and it provides a huge reread value, because a lot of what seemed utterly incomprehensible at first makes so much sense in hindsight. A lot like Fight Club. This was a great read. I only wish that the big twist about what was going on was worked into the narrative itself.

Thanks! The 'Is not a pony story' was definitely the criticism I took to heart from all the feedback I got, and so I'm glad it reads more Equestrian, now!

Damn. You are one to watch my friend. Literally, in this case. This is exactly what a one-shot should be.

Well, thanks!

You must be busy, but don't forget that you know how to write, okay?

Running cons is exhausting. Writing...there's just no time anymore, yea :(

But a month later (And with less crazy stuff going on)...seeing this again makes me smile, so thank you <3
