Am I correct in assuming this is your first attempt at this kind of thing? Because this has all the marks of it, so much so that people who have read a number of stories and notice these marks might be turned off by them. Most tend to think of the "New Elements of Harmony bearers" concept as a cope-out for creativity, but I like to think of it more as the fanfic equivalent of an Easy Bake oven: It's everyone's first experience with "baking" even though it's not really baking it's just pretending, although you still technically learn stuff about baking. This kind of story is a good way to get creative juices pumping due to the simple process of slotting characters into certain traits for essentially free character building.
Basically what I'm saying is, if you have faith in it then by all means keep going. Stretch those author musceles and see what you can do. I may not like it, and others might not either, but people like BackSlash2554 here did and some others might too.
