Rarity decides that Applejack’s Hearts and Hooves day present for Rainbow Dash isn't romantic enough. Fluttershy decides the same thing about Rainbow Dash’s present for Applejack. They each set out to help their friends, but find that romance doesn't work the same way for everypony.
The idea and large parts of this story were written by Bookplayer who then allowed me to adopt it so that I could finish it. Suffice it to say if you enjoy it, you should go give her a thumbs up and if you don't enjoy it, blame me.

I truly like the ending on how Applejack & Rainbow Dash explained to each other on the deeper value of their gifts for Hearts and Hooves Days.
Also, the Pony Sutra was definitely a nice touch too.

This was really cute, and teaches us a really important lesson (which is fairly obvious but I'll say it; all relationships are different to each other) which a lot of people forget when trying to do something romantic.

I feel like 'day' in 'Hearts and Hooves day' should be capitalized. Not the point. And odd that RD doesn't like her hooves touched (which with AJ's blush alludes to a certain inactivity) but then finds the Pony Sutra and wants to try everything out.
This is super cute! Personalized gifts are always best, but I love Fluttershy and Rarity interventions. Rainbow Dash's card is brilliant - I say things like that in real life. Flutters encouraging RD to buy a book she doesn't understand is ridiculous lol
This is a great set up of their intimate interactions: innocent but illuminating.
