Smoker

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cheshire Cat: "We're all mad here."

When a royal guard in the prime of his life gets assigned to guard Princess Twilight's castle, he figures it'll just be another post to stand at. However, when he gets to Ponyville, he realizes that this job may be more tricky than he first anticipated... especially with all of this "friend-making" business.

XXXXXXXX

Just a little something I whipped up. I really enjoyed writing it, and I hope you enjoy reading it.

Rated Teen for a fairly momentarily but still rather graphic gore scene. It lasts a little, but everything else is tame.

EDIT: apparently, this story is featured by twilight's library. Thanks a bunch, seriously.

I loved every second of this, and I almost fell out of my chair when I got to the Spongebob reference. Well done!

A clear thumbs up, though I think Spike should have appeared at least once. :pinkiehappy:

This really deserves more attention than it currently has. It's a very nice character piece, with all the Mane Six in-characters. (plus I can't get over how cute he is toward Rarity.):yay:

Color me impressed. Have a like, a bookshelving, a feature recommendation, and this ribbon:

...and welcome to The Club

Great story! You should consider making a sequel.

Uhh why is this in the Dark category if it's not Dark? :applejackunsure:

Not bad, i liked this one! my only critique would be that it seems a little bit self insert/wish fulfillment ish, especially toward the end. But other than that, it was a fun read. There were a couple of lines that made me chuckle and a couple of others that were just worded very well.

One question though, how the heck does a guard survive more than a week of that type of guard duty? Barely ever eating, drinking or resting, exactly zero down time... i feel like that could kill a stallion.
