It was another failed show for the Great and Powerful Trixie in central park of Manehatten. She was chased away by another mare that had been doing a show on the skills of fire juggling and lost her whole crowd. She got enough to get some more food for the night and to pay for the lot she had been keeping her trailer on. She was stuck playing on the street ever sense the nasty incident with Ursa in Ponyville.

She opened the door and backed in carrying in a small bag of groceries when she saw someone sitting in her chair that she normally woke up in after a long night of trying to book a real gig at one of the larger theaters. She dropped the bag and lit her horn up with magic not knowing this stranger.

“Who are you? What are you doing in The Great and Powerful Trixie’s house?!” She asked, she glared as the pony turned toward her having a large snout coming to a point. He grinned and tipped his hat.

“Oh my I thought I was in the home of Trixie the Stage mare working in the park willing to play birthday parties for money.” He said with a rather snarky tone smirking, then tipped the top hat resting on his head over his horn, “I am the famous Mysterious Mumbo, at your service.”

Trixie blinked and said sticking up her nose saying, “Please, The Great Mumbo died ten years ago after an accident on stage.” She blinked as she saw the colt turn his head smiling and showing he was only half there. He blew a bit of air out of his mouth and made frost form on the stained glass windows with a ghostly grin.

“You think I don’t know this? I’ve lost my touch if I can’t scare a stage mare off.” He rubbed a hoof across his dirty suit, “But if you do want to be so rude I guess I’ll go find another magician to give my gift to.” He floated up his back legs looking like smoke.

“Wait!” She said smiling nervously shivering a bit, “I-if you’re the Great Mumbo…then why haunt here? Why not the stage or,” She was interrupted by Mumbo appear close to her face.

“Because I was passed up, it was supposed to be ME to become the great magician going onto my own shows in Canterlot Castle for the Princess! IT WAS GOING TO BE ME!” The spirit screamed making the windows shake and the glass in the sink rattle.

Trixie shrunk back and stuttered, “T-then…w-why do you want me to do…” She was against the wall shaking like a leaf fearing the spirit not knowing what she could do to protect herself.

The spirit smiled and the top hat lifted off his head and floated in front of Trixie and said “Oh…you see…we’re not so different. I’ve been watching you and listening to your little fits of anger beating your pillows because of a certain mare…” He grinned showing old pure white teeth. “You see…my old rival went by the stage name Starlight, he was really named Sky Sparkle…he went onto Canterlot and started a family. So you’re going to help me get revenge…”

“R-revenge…You mean, if I help you? You’re going to help me get revenge on Twilight Sparkle and her friends?” She smiled a little, “That doesn’t sound too bad…I mean…I get the help of one of the greatest stage artists ever to grace Manehatten.”

“Good…I’m glad you see it my way...now just,” The hat floating between the two bobbed up and down, “Take the hat…and then I’ll be able to help you Humiliate them and become the next great stage magician.”

Trixie smiled and took the hat in her hooves making it flip up into the air and land on her head over her horn. She smiled and rested around her horn shining an eerie blue as Mumbo disappeared in a cold breeze. She looked around shivering from the experience.

In her ear she could hear Mumbo speaking in her ear, “Now Trixie…with my help we can set up our plan. This will be our finest show…and be the finale of their lives…” She blinked looking around and slipped into her chair closing her eyes after her long day letting herself fall asleep to get rest for the greatest time of her career so far and finally get revenge on Twilight and her five friends.

Mumbo smiled while his spirit rested in his hat and got ready to destroy those six ponies, even if he had to get rid of Trixie’s mind, he would do anything to destroy that granddaughter of his rival, no matter what. He cackled in his head and slowly started to sow the seeds of evil ideas for the show that would end all shows.
