The drugs were beginning to wear off...

Sequels1

E

An unusual conversation convinces Ponyville's premier tea merchant to embark on a journey to find a tea plant with magic powers. To find ... the Scary Purple Dragon Tea! Or was it White Dragon Bush? Epic Tea Leaves? Oh brother ...

Tealove will travel from the skies above Equestria, to the caves below, to its darkest, most dangerous forests. She'll contend with monsters, trolls, mad scientists, insane cultists, and teammates who aren't what they seem. But the greatest threat Tealove will face on her quest is the complete lack of consistency. The backstories, motivations, and allegiances of everypony she meets will change at the drop of a hat. It's almost like she's being written by a team of authors who aren't communicating with each other at all. Who can Tealove trust, when she can't even keep the most basic details of her own quest straight?

I think I found a minor continuity error in chapter 3. But apart from that, it was great.

Oh my goodness, you found chapter 3? I've been looking everywhere for it!

nice reference

A lead zeppelin.

:facehoof:

"Sorry, I don't speak unintelligible gibberish. Can you say that again in normal talk?"

:rainbowlaugh:

“We might have, we might not have. This could be something entirely different.”

This story in a nutshell.

All I know is that it’s very easy to mistake for some other plant that’s poisonous.”

Delicious tea... or deadly poison?

“I’m, uh, Colt Skylark. And I represent the … um … Equestrian Royal Fellowship of … Birdwatchers. Yes, birdwatchers. They sent me to do a survey of the birds in these mountains.”

“There’s only one species of bird dumb enough to live in these mountains.”

“That’s why they’re not paying me very much.”

:rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

“That?” the Duchess said. “Just your standard notice of termination. There’s your severance pay, a non-disclosure clause, a non-competition clause, so on and so forth. Nothing too unusual. Read it and sign all the highlighted places.”

BUWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!:rainbowlaugh:

lightly dusted with salt from the tears of orphans.

:rainbowhuh: Ooookay..

“You’ve got the touch. You’ve got the power.” said Apple Bloom with wide eyes.

:rainbowlaugh::pinkiehappy:

As to the rest.... what the buck did I just read?

Okay, that was.. yeah as insane as I thought it would be. Actually started rather tame, then Snow Troll, and, it just got worse.. but, do gloriously insane.

“That?” the Duchess said. “Just your standard notice of termination. There’s your severance pay, a non-disclosure clause, a non-competition clause, so on and so forth. Nothing too unusual. Read it and sign all the highlighted places.”

In a world of punch-clock villainy, even surprise dismissals for incompetence are handled with corporate bureaucracy and stale dignity. The unions took all the fun out of being a minion.

The Baron munched on a bowl of popcorn as he watched events unfold in his crystal ball. It was his favorite kind of popcorn: lightly dusted with salt from the tears of orphans.

It's nice that orphan tears never go to waste. At least that way Scootaloo produces SOME kind of value to society.

"In that there case," he said, "Come with me if ya want to live."

****ing NAILED it, Mac.

The mare put the beaker to her mouth and took a sip.
“Now that’s some good cider. Who you got there, Big Mac?”

The greatest alchemy of this world, engaged in what is easily the most wonderful and beneficent goal possible: formulating superior beverages.

You get an automatic upvote for revisiting Tealove's crush on Big Mac, because comics canon is best canon.

Big Mac is my husbando! Tealove can't have him!

5448089
Are you sure? Because he went from "Generally uncomfortable with the extra attention" to "making out passionately" by the end.
Then again, Tealove did mention having a boyfriend. I guess that sort of got abandoned somewhere along the way.
Much like the story premise.

The premise? It's in a better place now. Or rather, it's in the same place, but now it has big hole through it!

erm... wat
