The internet gods grow tired of the war between bronies and haters, so they take matters into their own hands. Using their powers, the bronies and the haters are all transported to Equestria where they battle to the finish. Will the bronies be able to defeat the haters?

I needed to vent, so I wrote a story. What more is there to say?

What the hell? This is really funny, whilst being utter nonsense! :applejackconfused:

483225 That is the beauty!

482787
It's always good to vent your frustrations via non-violent ways.
I usually do it through music or by playing hack'n'slash or shoot-em-up games on the easiest difficulty.

483236 It's not really a vent, just a story

Exactly what 483225 says. Original, but nonsense. It is funny to read something like that :P

483255 hence the random tag

Fu*k the picture of twilights brother and the princess wont post just imagine that in the comment above. :twilightsheepish:

You had me reading it at the amusing concept alone. Then once I got to the meat of things I realized just how much of a philosophical goldmine this was. Fer what it's worth you've got my support of this idea. Not like I spend much time paying attention to what the so called haters might say or do in the first place.

Amusing, Interesting, and Hilarious concept? Check!
Amazing, Awesome, and Cool Philosophy? Check!
Martin Luther King Reference? Check!

Well it looks like you've done and made something worth reading here even if it WAS only supposed to be a vent.

Clap clap clap nice speech bro.

The beginning is very true, of all fandoms.
"a pony with the Fox News logo for a cutie mark" haha
This is a perfect dramatization of an internet fandom war. A bizarre concept, but wonderfully done with so much truth and humor.

This needs to get featured. Now.

Hold up, there's an INTERNET GOD!?!? Oh Celestia! YES!

Hey don't go after FOX :fluttercry: they may be lost with the news but at least they defend conservatives and go after Liberals.

Poor Seth and Cereal, they didn't get to stay.

That was a very beautiful speech

HOLY SHIT this was very good. This is win my friend VERY WIN :rainbowlaugh: :pinkiehappy:

Ivo

Amazing work, I have to say!
And an amazing message, I´ll lock in my heart.

Had to think all the time at this song... *shrug*

Anyway, you made my day, Sir!
Thank you!

Y U NO FIRE ORBITAL FRIENDSHIP CANNON??? Sorry had to say it.

this was EPIC, and the best, its pretty much true that Bronies are now a mark in history, maybe the original term won't live, but I believe that show stereotypes have now truly be broken and in the future, new communities centered on other "girly" shows will pop up.

meanwhile haters? sure they'll keep on existing and their term will follow, but they'll keep being classified as pessimists and "community-killers"

and haters do not only hate ponies, they can ahte a variety of things....
while bronies and other communities are centered on their base

Amazing...is all I can say!

and then a pie hit the internet god in the face the end:twilightsmile: (by the way it seems complete is it?)

"they had become an internet phenomena" - Phenomena is the plural form of phenomenon :trixieshiftleft:
Fox News cutie mark :rainbowlaugh:
"Meanwhile, Twilight lead the bronies" - Led, not lead :ajbemused:
"the charity work they had done an put it into a large ball" - dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/discord.png
"Mic The Microphone and The Living Tombstone called upon their fellow musicians" - You put "Mic the Microphone" earlier. Be consistent!
"Surely his music would defeat the haters dislike of anything brony-made" - Where's the apostrophe? :fluttershysad:
"the internet would be brought back to the good ol' days." - Is that a reference? :rainbowkiss:
"Next it was the artists turn." - Fluttershy wants an apostrophe :fluttercry:
"The painting landed harmlessly around the haters" - Did you mean paintings?
"It seemed as though all hope was lot" - ALL HOPE IS LOT! :pinkiecrazy:
"The bronies were sure that their comics would bring da lulz" - Is that another reference? :rainbowkiss:
"and instead responded to by the hater's reasons to hate the show. However, even though the hater's reasons" - More than one hater = apostrophe goes after the S

and simply being a part of it "

Forget to finish something? :unsuresweetie:
Moral of the story: Listen to everything The Only says

483644 Yes, both of those were references and all is fixed

Holy manure! This is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY beyond epic! Let's think, how many awesome things in this story can I fit in... let's see, FOX reference, Martin Luther King Jr. reference, awesome speech, awesome comedy, referencing Cereal's obsession with Rarity, referencing Sethiso's obsession with Trixie, having everypony freak out over Twilight Sparkle and then saying Tara Strong is now the literal bronie queen, and much, much more. I really liked this long story short :twilightblush: Keep up the always amazing work! :pinkiehappy:

I was laughing for 5 minutes when "Internet god" was mentioned

I agree with this 120%.

Oh buck the hay YES! :rainbowlaugh: This is fantabulous!

BR

Yes. Just...yes.

Oh boy, what a great read before bed. Thanks!

Lol at the backround pony reference :rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::pinkiehappy::rainbowlaugh:

Now, my main problem with this is that it's kind of biased in favor of the bronies. And by 'kind of' I mean exuberantly.

It's to be expected I guess, but it comes off as a tad immature to have the opposition portrayed as a bunch of asshats only.

I guess you can justify it by saying it's comedy; but I didn't really find much of this funny. Maybe the style of humor is just outside my tastes. Ah well.

I'm not gonna downvote this or anything, I just can't get into this.

485300 I agree, but part of comedy is exaggerating a lot. I know that a lot of haters aren't a bunch of asshats, and some just don't like the show, but I don't classify the people that watched the show and dislike it as "haters". Nor do I classify people that dislike bronies for the clear reasons there are to dislike some of the bronies as "haters". I classify the asshats that purposely seek out brony content to argue with bronies and leave comments like "Ponies are gay XD" and "Bronies are ponyfag pedophiles XD" and then just wait for the wave of angry bronies to come. Those are the asshats I classify as "haters". I also classify haters as those who assume that the entire brony community is made up of the bad stereotypes

Also, people who express their opinions in vulgar and demeaning ways I also classify as "haters". There's nothing wrong with an opinion, but they way you say your opinion counts.

Also, another thing I forgot to touch on was opinions. I mean, sure it's nice to have your own opinion, but expecting to not be hated if yours is different from the group is pretty stupid. It's like walking into the white house, saying the president is stupid, and NOT expect to get kicked out.

Anyway, now I'm just ranting. I'm sorry you didn't find this humorous, I shall try harder next time!

485372
First off, no need to apologize, you're being civil about this.

Second, my disdain for the treatment is probably because I saw several other fics with haters in the past few days. Not with the whole 'battle' set-up, but with the 'Hater who's an asshole and not at all likeable to make the other side look better.' I mean it's not an insult to you, but if you're using Fox News methods to insult Fox News, does that really make you a better debater than them?

Also the whole self-insert thing. It wasn't grating, but it was still kind of jarring. Especially when I don't know who half the fucking brony leaders are, and the only named anti-brony is Fox News I think. I couldn't tell, the whole fight was trippy in a Lynchian sort of way; you can take that as a compliment or not, I don't mind either way.

485457 Well, I needed a face for the hater army, and Fox News is the only thing that popped into my head, because any of the other hate emanates from completely anonymous people. I wasn't really trying to insult them at all, and if he was more popular I would have put GypsyCooler or Tabtoxin as the leader of the hater army. And the self insert thing, well, I couldn't find any other way to deliver a speech to the bronies mid-war.

Otherwise, the fight was just a prelude to the speech.

As far as the portrayal of haters, for the purposes of the story portraying them as good people who just don't like ponies wouldn't really help me get my point across, so instead I took the behaviors of the more extreme haters to use in the story.

As for not knowing who half the brony leaders are, I gasp in shock. *gasp*
I think the ones I mentioned were Sethisto (maker of EQD), Knighty (Creator of FimFiction), Living Tombstone (Music creator whose remix of Discord has the most views of all brony-made songs, and was featured in an interview with Daniel Ingram for the Rolling Stones), Eurobeat Brony (made the original song "Discord") and Mic the Microphone (Well-Known Brony Rapper)

As for the other references, I believe I referenced Short Skirts and Explosions, making an awful pun about his story Background Pony, I Bring Da Lulz, who is another brony on youtube, Cereal Velocity, another EQD guy, and I think I referenced some others.

It does surprise me that you didn't recognize any of them, but I realize that not everybody will know everybody in the community. Anywho, I think I'll take the"Lynchian" style of the fight as neither a compliment or insult, considering I'm not entirely sure what it means.

485526
>GypsyCooler or Tabtoxin
I don't know who those people are. Or care really. But with the Fox News thing, it was more that I didn't have a face to attach to it besides Rupert Murdoch's. And hell if I want that wooden visage in my mind longer than needed.

>As far as the portrayal of haters, for the purposes of the story portraying them as good people who just don't like ponies wouldn't really help me get my point across, so instead I took the behaviors of the more extreme haters to use in the story.

I get that that's the point, and by itself it doesn't really bother me. It's just I've noticed lately a lot of people in the fandom really hold onto the idea that anyone who doesn't like or care for the show or fanbase is automatically a 'hater.' It's a bad attitude to have, and it really doesn't make this fandom look good. It's sort of like how Wookieepedia classifies anyone who doesn't like George Lucas as a 'Lucas-basher.'

>As for not knowing who half the brony leaders are, I gasp in shock. *gasp*
I knew like maybe half of them, because 1) I don't care about the 'big' names in this fandom. 2) From what I do know of the ones I know, they're kind of creepy.

The pun was awful, I'm glad we can agree on that. :P

>It does surprise me that you didn't recognize any of them, but I realize that not everybody will know everybody in the community.
I'm mostly in this community to look at some good art, watch the show itself, and write shitty fan-fiction. I don't care that much for it besides that, mainly because I have a tendency to rub other fans the wrong way due to various reasons.

> Anywho, I think I'll take the"Lynchian" style of the fight as neither a compliment or insult, considering I'm not entirely sure what it means.
David Lynch? You know, Mullohand Drive, Eraserhead?

485569

I agree. I put people who don't like the show or fanbase and don't care for them in the category of "normal people". It's when they start attacking the show and community when they start moving into the "hater" category.

>I knew like maybe half of them, because 1) I don't care about the 'big' names in this fandom. 2) From what I do know of the ones I know, they're kind of creepy.

I just know the names, and I don't know whether the ones I know are 'creepy' but I'd say they aren't for the most part

>I'm mostly in this community to look at some good art, watch the show itself, and write shitty fan-fiction. I don't care that much for it besides that, mainly because I have a tendency to rub other fans the wrong way due to various reasons.

I'm in it for the good art, the good show, the shitty fan-fiction, and the music. So I guess we aren't that different...

>David Lynch? You know, Mullohand Drive, Eraserhead?
I'm sorry but I have no idea of what this is referencing.

485613
>I agree. I put people who don't like the show or fanbase and don't care for them in the category of "normal people". It's when they start attacking the show and community when they start moving into the "hater" category.
Eh, I wouldn't even go that far. Some criticisms are justified given the reasons and circumstances, but let's not get further into that than we already are.
>I'm sorry but I have no idea of what this is referencing.
Sigh. Watch this trailer. Try and watch the movies Mullohand Drive and Eraserhead if you can, and look up other Lynch films if you want. He's a terrific director.

485643
Well alright than. I'll be sure to check out that director. And yes, some criticisms can be justified in the circumstances, I agree.

Its always nice to have a civilized discussion with another brony.

485705
Mein Gott, someone's actually taking up a recommendation of mine. Amazing.

Yes, that happens far too rarely for my own tastes.

wao

I have met soooo many haters who are EXACTLY how they are portrayed in this. Bad people.
However, the big speech is 100% correct and we should just love and tolerate the sh*t out of the haters.
One thing that most bronies don't seem to get is that "Love and Tolerate" does NOT mean force everyone to watch the show.
Even those who absolutely hate the show more than anything but are perfectly fine with bronies are good people; hating people just because they like something makes no sense, and that makes a bad person. But we need to love and tolerate, because if that is not what we do, then we are no better than the brony haters themselves. If someone hates the show and you try to force them to "join the herd", you will most likely make a hater (most likely with biased opinions).

I agree with this. Just because someone doesn't like the show, the fandom, or evn the communaty doesn't mean they are a bad person. It just means the have different tastes then you. It just means that they don't like it, not that they are going to go around the net making fun of you or the fandom.
And the people that are going to go around the net or even IRL need to chill out. Maybe even watch an episode. The first time I ever heard about it was because of a friend at school. I thought "oh god pony, pegasi, unicorns, and magic? This show if just another little girl show". AND BOY WAS I WRONG! I have already pulled three others into the fandom and are friends with almost 20 people that don't watch the show. Yet when me and my friends that do start talkin about it. They get in on the dusscusion and we just end up talking about a multitude of different shows. Not just ponys. So just because they don't like the show doesn't make them a hater. Just a non-fan.

Good sir you so far have produced many a' story that have left me fighting for air after laughing my ass off, good show old boy.

(Ps. I noticed you do not have a avatar yet so why not have Discord as it seeing you create hilarious stoies that are also insane, but in a good way.)

>A pony by the name of Short Skirts And Explosions almost stepped up for the position, but he didn't want to be the leader. He was more of a background pony.

I lost it right here.

Take your well-deserved thumb.

486693 Until I think of another avatar, thanks for the idea!

"A pony by the name of Short Skirts And Explosions almost stepped up for the position, but he didn't want to be the leader. He was more of a background pony."
I see what you did there...

On topic, I feel like you hit the nail on the head about how we as a community should react to those who only fling spiteful and hateful comments at us. I personally have dealt with bullies and the like before, and learned quickly that if you give them no satisfaction from torturing you, then they stop. Of course, some people will continue to attack us, which is to be expected, but at least we can show them our indifference to their words.

489040 Thanks for the entertainment.

I imagined myself in the story... running off to have a party with Pinkie before the war even started...
