It's a job after all (it's formally assigned to her, or celestia wouldn't have known and it's a task that is of vital importance to be done, therefor assuming that it's a proper job isn't much of a stretch.) - also I hope you weren't asking for a number, since I'm pretty damn sure that not even Faust has any hard numbers on what any of the jobs pay.

And if you ment it in the way of "that's not really something one can make a living of" - I'd disagree, considering that it's weather control and stuff like bringing rain to farms or providing clouds for shadows is important for the whole growing food thingy.

Ok, I know this might be off topic, but there has been discussion about RD job. Has anyone else wondered why Rainbow Dash is the head of Ponyville's weather patrol when she is at most the equivalent of young twenties? Skilled or not, you would think that someone older and with more experience would be the one managing things. It is just something I found odd.
