A collection of various side stories from the universe of "The Wizard and the Lonely Princess". Oh my... Well... I could see that being the case... Discord never really struck me as a killer... Or even really all that evil... My best view was that I always saw him was as more of a Sociopath who desired to see the world "Return to its natural state". No morals, no inhibitions, no rules. As likely to jump off a bridge as he would be to cross it, or turn it into cheese, or invert it, or build a 1:1 scale replica of it out of toothpicks right next to it. 
A good guy he is not. Indirrectly his actions would be responsible for shortening lifespans and countless deaths... but never likely intentionally... Or so I think. 
Your story about the gems is probably my favorite one I've seen, I must admit.
And now I have to wonder if Mi Amore Cadenza coming into existance was just a fluke of recessive genetics or what. Or if she is even a true Alicorn for your story. Or if she's even been born yet! 
Anyway, I always enjoy both the main story and these, so I'm happy to see a double update! 
I think it's just you East Coaster's that are crazy. Us West Coast Canadians are sane as can be 
Coast to Coast hostilities aside, I'm not quite sure how I missed this. The main story was one of the first MLP fics I ever read, and in fact, one of the main reasons I now read pony fanfiction.
Also, cooking. Just another thing I love about the princess of the night.
Woow, this battle was epic, but also brutal over the any limits of kinds show censure, no one would expect everyone favorite troll Discord to be unbeatable, unstopable badass villan who even thought not want to kill anyone who is a playtoy for him, razed entire armys, defeated army of undead, beat up some evil tyrant Necromancer and survived Necromancy Nuke and yet have enoght power to put his revange, beat up entire army, fight off 2 Alicorns and still think of it as a FUN.
In terms of power, discord beat up Chrystalis and Nightmare Moon together with no trouble at all, basicaly not because he powers grown as he spread chaos, but because of his immortality, you can trown nukes at the guy and the damage will still recover, even when he is weak.
I m a bit supriced that this chapter got only 5 comments, it was realy good, but I quess it is because Luna story did not started as to Popular, with is a bit of a shame, it deserve more attention.
That's what's been implied this whole time. 
Also, you will be referencing these stories in the main story, yeah? Since this is an amazing backstory you've built up, and we don't want to see these copypasta'd in when they finally make it to Equestria, although I suppose a quick summary that links to the appropriate chapter here would serve... But yeah, keep up the good work, and while I really want MOAR NAO, I suppose I can be patient. 
Quite interesting and complicated story to explain what happened before Luna banishment, but I personaly perfear changelings as a orginal race they are instead of side efect of curse or experiment, still, good luck with god work.
Also, usually you updated both Luna story and Luna and Harry adventure at the same time, I hope that next chapter from Harry adventure will be soon on.
My only complaint is that we don't know how old Twi is, or how close the Summer Sun Celebration is, or even when this is, since they haven't mentioned how much time is left, and Harry's timeline is useless for figuring out how close Luna/Nim's release is.
Can we find out more, or do we have to wait until next summer (for Harry) for hints?
I sense a reference to the final battle in How to Train Your Dragon. Amirite? I hope so! I'm not used to catching references! Anyway, love this backstory, and agree wholeheartedly with a suggestion to reference it in the main story. Wouldn't want anyone to miss this piece of awesome!
This. This is amazing, and the depressing part is, we can see it again and again if we look at both history and the present. I'm seeing parallels with the US government right now, where we desperately need to overhaul the infrastructure of our road system, and prepare for water shortages, but they're too busy squabbling over other issues, only some of which have any importance.

They seemed to have fallen in love with a Earth Pony stallion.
You're saying a single earth pony stallion got to be the mate of 2 warrior babes, one who was half dragon and one who was half serpent?
Was his name "Lucky"?
but we had wanted nothing to do with her at that point as she had seemed to disliked our ideas immensely.

What do we learn from this chapter, we learn that Nobility in Equestria is and alwais will be a total pain in the ass.
And also that Ponies are rasist.
Still I wonder why elements favorited Celestia, I think she did not deserve to use tham any more than Luma. and Celestia was not so perfect to have all magic, loyality, kindness, generousity, laughter and honestly.
Not realy, she probably tryed to cure her sister as she though she was cursed or pozesed, but elements did not worked as she hoped for as Celestia did not had what it takes to use tham all.
The real question is do Luna as NMM was able use elements to banish Celestia to the sun if she had the chance even if it would be only side efect.
I think Celestia bigest mistake was and still is to stuck up with nobility, they are bunch of self centred arrogance good for nothink ritch folks, and yet Celestia tolerate and keep tham in lead for centuries.
Both sides were to blame and got they part of suffering, but I favorize Luna for sticking with night guards and other species when Celestia favorizing nobles and bying blind to her sister suffering got her on my bad side.
Lets just say that the next side story chapter is being told/experienced by Celestia in the aftermath. Her thoughts of what happened with Luna will be basically like this:
As for the nobility... there's a lot less in the present day FiM and they hold a lot less power... and that's about as much as I'll say on the matter...
Well, prince BlueBlood what I personaly would want to be deleted or put hard in his place in the show is enogh to replace all nobility with alot power in the pass.
When there were 3 tribes, Unicorns though of thamself as more importand uppear classes, did Celestia learned nothink from the pass as she surround herself with Unicorn nobility,
Unicorn nobility in leadership, with alot money and power for doing absolutly nothink productive, useless BlueBlood who is abnomaly in show as he is one big plot hole himself, and than Pegasi what control weather and are most of military forces and than Earth ponies who grown food ( Applejack work entire day on huge farm with her brother and yet they hardly have any money they need ).
Modern improved Equestria seems to be almost like 3 tribes, with only diference that they do not hate one another.

Now, onto the point of this whole post. Great chapter. I like how Nightmare and Luna are like Fred and George, switching back and forth like that. Can't wait to see the next one.
Hmm... It's been a while... where do I reread the part about her transformation referenced here? I could go through it all again, but I'm about to sleep, and this seems to be the easiar idea...
Also, wow. This is an awesome chapter for the fleshing out of your equestria's, and by that, Luna's history...
I always seem to get extremely excited when I see you update either the main story or the side story though. I admit, at first I was only mildly interested in the side stories, but I think I might look forward to them more than the main story now oddly enough... If only because of how deeply you go in the details and how fairly you tell a story that was never really given any good explanation. I love them both, but... hmm... Whelp, I guess your only option is to update them both every day for the rest of time! 
Can't wait for the next update!
