Pinkie Pie, the peerless party pony we know and love, has always perplexed Twilight Sparkle, who finally can study Pinkie after her mentor arrives in Ponyville to retrieve her. Between the years of rock farming and her new life as a party planner, Pinkie was a martial artist, a brilliant disciple in the nuttiest and most powerful form of hoof-to-hoof combat, Shugakain. The time has come to recieve her final training, and she must spend three months on the poorest part of Equestria to train, kept company only by an overanalyzing Twilight and Spike, who seems to be losing his mind. As well as documenting her friend's tribulations, Twilight tries to piece together the broken memories Pinkie reveals as she sleeps.
Back home, madness strikes Ponyville. The remaining four Elements of Harmony enter a 2500 bit bet: whoever can go two months with their life turned upside down wins a fortune. And so it comes to pass that Rainbow Dash goes to college, Applejack becomes a romance writer, Rarity plays dress-up as a birthday party clown, and poor Fluttershy enters the ring as an amateur buckboxer... Will their friendship keep them bound together, or will a year's worth of tax free money be enough to split the four friends apart? What secrets lie buried in Pinkie's mind? And what happens when Twilight is finally proven right on a problem settled long ago?
This might be the most creative story I've ever seen.

Well then, that means one of us would know what they're talking about! I'm almost patently overweight and have no coordination, furthest I got was a purple belt in Tae Kwon Do. Purple was the fourth lowest of countless colurs. The martial arts style I created for this, Shugakain (say it fast) has little enough to do with any respectable martial arts style. If it did, it would be much more intriguing, I'm sure.

I've done some minor research on them. I'm impressed by the devotion they show to their training. I suppose Shaolin is the closest to it, but I went with the scientific approach to their (the ponies')martial arts. I can't spoil yet, sadly, but it comes with an explanation of Pinkie's amazing reality warping powers. Oh, and thank you kindly!

Thanks kindly! Believe me, they will- I've been percolating this idea around in my head, and it finally snapped into place. There's no way I won't cover both halves, but expect Pinkie Pie to be the priority here. I took a Jung personality test, and compared it to a chart. I got Twilight as my matching personality, and looked in the mirror. That's where her little problem came from. Do expect it soon, my typing schedule has increased exponentially.

Awesome chapter! Even though like you said in the beginning that this is just a filler chapter, it was still hilarious. I liked the story of the origins of Shugakain, and how it was connected to Pinkie Pie. I especially loved Twilight's line "He just flew up into the sky and you teleported!" Had me cracking up.
But my question, and it may sound weird, is, "why was Pinkie Pie taught Shugakain?" Was it purely a family tradition thing or did she seek out Master Roundhouse? I know you wrote that she was a prodigy but she can have all the potential in Equestria and not know how to use it if she does not have a master.
On a side note: Did you know that naturally sugarcane is not sweet? Sugarcane has to be either refined or cooked in a way that the actual "sugar" part is enhanced. Of course you can just chew sugarcane for some of the sweetness but it is not the same in taste. It's like maple syrup. You have to get the sap from the maple tree and cook it before you eat it or else it tastes horrible.
Other than that, I loved the chapter and I can't wait for more hilarity!!

Well to each their own, I never finished an FF Game beyond FF4, but I am close to finishing 6. I think what took me out of the loop was the fact that some of the stories weren't totally interesting. And I have to say, IN MY OPINION, FFVII isn't the real FFVII. Crisis Core is the true FFVII. It just explains the Final Fantasy 7 world a whole lot better in my opinion. And Zack is just a more likeable character than Cloud. You'll find out who Zack is later on in FFVII.
