    So, I'm back.

Well, that was certainly fun. Over a month of no internet in the new apartment building I moved into, leaving me with only campus internet to work off, and seeing that uni assignments have been keeping me pretty busy, I haven't had much opportunity to check out what's been going on this site.

So imagine the look on my face when I realize that I have over a hundred updates that I missed and at least 20 new chapters for stories I'm following that I haven't caught up. I've got a lot of reading ahead of me, but at least it'll be better than trawling through dozens of academic readings.

The good news is I've met someone new here who's more than happy to serve as a beta reader for EqJ, which is freakin awesome because long-distance pre-readers (no offense to my current team) can sometimes be notoriously difficult to get a hold of. I'm expecting the pace of writing to really pick up once we hit the holidays in December, and the next chapter should be coming out a couple of weeks into December at the most, assuming that internet at my place finally gets set up within the next week from now or so.

    Holy crap, an update!

Yeah, I know, surprised me too. Here I am half-anticipating the moment when I realize that I've finally run out of steam for Equestrian Joe, and I actually manage to churn out another chapter.

Well, for Equestrian Joe as a story, I think we can safely say that we are at the 40% mark already. We're approaching the second half of the story now, and things are hopefully going to become easier for me to write instead of harder because most of the planning for the writing that I did was for the SECOND half rather than the first half of the story.

That said, I'm not too sure if I'm going to have enough time on my hands to work on getting more writing done, because I'm going to be flying off to Australia in a couple of weeks to commence my university studies. If all goes well, my university course will actually help me in getting more inspiration in my writing, seeing that I'm majoring in Creative Writing for my Bachelor of Arts, then I should be able to get EqJ finished within a handful of months... Of course, that's assuming everything goes well and I have enough spare time on my hands to dedicate to finishing this project, after all. Here's hoping that the fellow writers I meet there will be willing to collaborate with me on this story...

Need pre-readers, stat: Equestrian Joe in danger of being dropped

This is it, guys. This is the turning point. I'm steadily starting to lose steam and passion in this fandom, mostly for the reason that there are other things occupying my attention, and there's not a lot of people with which I can discuss the progress of EqJ with, which makes planning and preparing future chapters rather hard when there's nobody to vet my writing and make sure that what I'm producing isn't a piece of crap. Most of my pre-readers are starting to drop out due to either lack of interest or other commitments outside, so I'm starting to lose a lot of steam when it comes to this project.

I need new pre-readers guys, stat. Is anybody willing to volunteer their services?

Whoever made this, thank you for making my day

No, seriously, thank you. Getting a TVTropes page for Equestrian Joe this early was pretty much the last thing I'd expected to happen. I'd thought it would pop up only once I'd hit the middle of the story or finished Book One and moved on to Book Two and beyond. Whoever created the page, you have my deepest, most flattered thanks! Here's hoping that the page will get expanded as more chapters get released!

Potential New Chapter to the Elements of Gaming

SO the main reason why I haven't been writing anything for the Elements of Gaming lately was because I hadn't been getting any decent co-op experiences lately with any video games - that, and all my co-authors who happened to be my gaming buddies as well dropped out of the writing team, which leave solely me to hold up the entire thing by myself.

The entire point of the Elements of Gaming chapters, I figured, was to capture the beauty of multiplayer experiences - both versus matches as well as co-operative experiences, though I lean a LOT towards playing the latter rather than the former. I get very vindictive and overly passionate when paying competitively against other people, which is a side of myself I don't really like to show, hence my preference to work with people instead of playing against them, and sometimes the funniest stories just come from the most ridiculous, spectacular cock-ups in teamwork.

That said, I was REALLY short on having good multiplayer experiences lately, because the games I'd been playing lately had all been single player, and it's been really hard to find gaming buddies who play the same games I do AND live in my area.

So, imagine the fresh burst of inspiration that came to me when I finally purchased my own copy of Payday 2 and got around to playing enough matches online and with my friends that I started seeing my own fair share of wacky shenanigans going down, including some of the most hilarious, spectacular failures I'd witnessed so far, some of them occurring thanks to me =X

If all goes well and I can get my friends onboard as chapter consultants, we might see a Payday 2 chapter coming out soon enough.

Didn't expect to find this series here, one more to add to my favorites list.

What about Warhammer 40,000, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Brutal Legends, and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.

Its here I stopped at gears but

Why no Nintendo games?

Twilight's perfect game.

One of the classics, now in easily accessible form. Awesome

halo: reach:yay:

I remember reading some of this ages ago. I also remember enjoying it, but you could use a proofreading pass.

Biggest issue I can see is dialogue punctuation.

“Reaaaaaaaaal smooth, Spike.” drawled Twilight, her voice literally oozing with sarcasm at every single word.

That full stop after "Spike" should be a comma.

“Geahs of War?” Said Applejack

"Said" should be "said".

Remember: if you follow dialogue with some variation of "said Character", then they're both part of the same sentence, so the dialogue should never end on a full stop (but you can use a question mark or exclamation mark; just don't capitalise "said").

I wrote a whole bunch about this here.

Think I'll read the rest of this story now. It's a fun idea. Thanks for writing it.

Hey, I read the Halo Reach one a while ago, but I didn't know this was a series. This is awesome and its got my favorite. It was a really great read and I'm excited to read more. Is this the original author?

I love this story!! To my favorites!!

I'm aware of that. But they should be explored at some point.

*Looks at chapters*

I don't recognise any of this. The only one I have played here is Tetris.

Fun story. Glad it's here. Especially liked the Rock Band chapter.

This is THE best book I've ever read.

Man i remember reading this along time ago, cool to see it up here.

This is beyond awesome. Being an avid gamer and having played at least over half of the games mentioned, I say you did a great job with conveying the Mane 6's reactions. Also :pinkiecrazy: and :flutterrage: are best ponies.

dude, make another halo, except that they face the flood.

by the way...CUPCAKES!!!:pinkiecrazy:

Half-Life 2:pinkiehappy: Please?:ajsmug:

Tiberium wars was such a good addition to the C&C series...  I really enjoyed that game.

Though it's a shame Tiberium Twilight had to go and ruin the whole thing...:twilightangry2:

>>456283 Yep, it's the original author here, but one of the writers of the team left due to a heavy workload and schedule, so our production is sort of on hiatus right now. I've recently gotten inspiration for an Asura's Wrath chapter, so let's just hope I'll be able to write it without my co-author's help, heh.

So... the girly-girls play better than the others...

I kinda want to see some CoD and Bf3, along with the impossible game. The rage would make it so funny!

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (multiplayer)

Left 4 Dead 2

World of Tanks

Portal 2 (multiplayer)

RISK: Factions

That is all.

LOL Starcraft 2 reference.

This, minus Solitaire.

Oh gee i wonder where the crowbar came from?:ajbemused:  Anywho another great and funny chapter! I need to hurry up and get back to reading it HAHA!

#46 · 135w, 5d ago · · · Tetris ·

Hopy Shiquita :twilightoops:

Twilight plays Tetris like a boss.

Glad to see this series is now on FIM. That way it'll be easier to track this story.

And now for requests, I have one game that will soooooo fit in this series.

Mario Party. This will test Friendship and could tear it apart easily.

If you need help on this game, check out some videos on Youtube. That could be useful since you apparently don't have any Nintendo Console games, correct?
