Actually, I would say that. In British English, collective noun pluralisation is common. It really depends on emphasis as to which is used over here, and by using the plural it distances Twilight from it to reflect her opinion of the whole thing.

I always feel kinda sad whenever one of these stories deals with cheating. Strangely enough, the incest never bothers me at all but the cheating does.
