A brony wakes from a bizarre dream and finds he's traded in hands for hooves. Unfortunately for him, he's still stuck on Earth, as somepony seems to have overlooked the 'magically appear in Equestria' part of the transformation. Suddenly adrift in the land of the rising sun, he'll have to make his own path if he ever wants to see the green fields of Equestria.
Much as I like this story, since 'Just Passing Through' blew up beyond my expectations, I haven't been able to devote the time to this story. Given my limited writing time, it's unrealistic to try to juggle both, and I shouldn't try to pretend otherwise. So while I hope to return to it once my other project has concluded, for the moment, I have to be honest and mark it as on hiatus.

Thanks. I hadn't discovered your story or the present time conversion bureau story when I started writing, so I ended up putting my own spin on the idea. I was honestly surprised that the theme was so rare.
I did enjoy reading 'First Pony View'; you have a very different style of characterization than my own, and I can tell you've got some interesting variations on the idea of 'suddenly waking up pony'.

Yes, your story's protagonist seems to be very sensible, planning, perhaps even stoic in spite of the severe situation he finds himself in. Maybe it can be alluded to that he's still a he, whereas FPV's protagonist has become a female and is therefore susceptile to heed his emotions over common sense. Don't take that as an implication that's how all females think and do, or that males are emotionless statues of perfect rationality. The fact of the matter is still that any and all of FPV's MC's thoughts and actions are produced and processed by a feminine brain, with effects and differences he's probably not conscious of.

Yeah, I hadn't read your story until I'd put my first chapter up. I was a bit dismayed when I realized yours had both Japan and a main character named John, but fortunately they diverge thereafter.
I'm currently rewriting the intro scene to be less confusing, then I just need to finish the second chapter. With luck, I'll have time during the flight back to Tokyo,
Well. I would say it looks promising (because it does), but there doesn't appear to have been any contact with this since March. I think you've put in a good amount of detail into it (which I like [A LOT]). I also love real-world references including mentions of TCB and Equestia Daily, but I have one question - is this going anywhere? It has potential to turn into a great story.

I do have a fairly detailed background worked out and a structure for the whole story - it's pretty cool in my head. Getting it out of my head has turned out to be a slow and arduous process, though. I have utmost respect for folks like Somber and Midnightshadow, who can consistently produce such epic pieces.
I'm glad you enjoyed the detail of the chapter. Wherever I can, I've actually gone and walked the route, though I take liberties as appropriate. Hopefully chapter 2 doesn't go too far overboard on description.

Well, that was more than worth the wait. I don't know why, but it seemed to take so long to read (not that it's a bad thing at all). Nice intricate little details, I look forward to more in future chapters. It'll be interesting to see what happens when he inevitably meets a human (inevitable in my mind, at least).
