Challenge Bonus Chapter 1 - Era's New Spell

Luna just couldn't help but laugh. Granted, Era was confused and Discord was screaming in pain, but still...

Ten minutes prior...

Era walked through the halls of the castle looking for her father, with as much of a pensive look as a filly her age could manage. She didn't understand what the book meant about the spell, but she just had to know what it would do - it was the only spell she could actually accomplish in the whole book. She finally found her father in the royal library. She trotted up to him and pulled on his tail, she found that it was the best way to get his attention.

“Daddy, could you help me test this new spell?”

“Let go of my tail, sweetie.” He said, barely holding back a yelp of pain. “Thank you. Now, what do you need help with?”

Era, adapting a pouty look, repeated to her father “I need to test a spell!” Discord, smiled at his daughter, assuming it was something simple like changing his mane color or a new prank spell, possibly both. Celestia looked better in pink, according to him, and he wasn't one to stop harmless chaos. The poor, unsuspecting fool knew naught of what would happen.

“Of course, honey. What do you need me to do?” Era, focusing on the spell, simply grunted.

“Stand still.” Discord, did so, and his daughter unleashed the spell.

Luna looked into her daughter's room. She had been hoping to have a chat about putting all of that pink hair dye in her sister's bottle of Shampoo, but could not find the filly. She did, however, find a book entitled “Convenient Offensive Spells for Young Mares” which lay open on her bed. Walking over to it, Luna saw a particular entry was circled.
“Ball Burner. Created by Manehatten Detective Olive Beads, it'll stop any stallion getting too close! Start by picturing energy flowing through you horn, and then a-” Before she finished the passage, Discord's screams filled the castle.

Now...

Luna just couldn't help but laugh. Granted, Era was confused and Discord was screaming in pain, but still. Still chuckling, she walked over to her husband. She'd have to make sure the offensive books were kept out of Era's reach in the future, but for now, she could relax and enjoy the family moment.

“I THINK SHE BURNED OFF THE LEFT ONE!” Even if Discord couldn't enjoy it.

This was written by Mr. Tanokki! This was a prompt where an author would write a scenario where Era had learned a combat spell and used it on Discord. The prompt is still open, and you can still write something and I'll add it as a chapter here! If you have a question, feel free to ask away!

I gave this a quick editing sweep before posting, and we all know how good I am at that...
