Me and David put a lot of our time into this, and I haven't even got to main body of the story yet.
Soooo i think it is maybe not that bad, but i would like it more if it wasn´t the real world but just another world like our. Maybe you just should not make them fans and just choosen ones. Just the first chapter so i don´t think i can to much about it know, i still like the idea.
PS: What i mean was....well i can´t image this in a place from the real world, it always was kind of Final Fantasy and Disney for me, but i give you the chance.
I want to ask who said them that the heartless are in Equestria? I know in the game it would mean exactly that, but i don´t think they should know that.
They should maybe a bit schocked or they should ask themself at least why them? They are too calm about that, maybe that is what the most don´t like.
PS: If i understand it right now, they only think the heartless could be in Equestria, but don´t really know i right?
I think they maybe agreed to fast to the plan to built many ships to abbandon their world, well maybe they would really listen to them, but i think not without a real proof, the decision is just to important.
The next thing is are they suddenly master in building those ships? Just from the game i don´t think they could do that, ok i have no problem with that but i would prefer it if they don´t do like they would know what they do at this point, becase nowhere is written that they have the knowledge to build those ships.
I really want to try and help you with what i think could be what they don´t like. I want to give the story a chance and give you an upvote. I think i understand that the one David? is Magician like Keyblade bearer and the other one a fighter type right? I like the one who block Rainbow. Should that moment (Oh no) be a joke? because i find it somehow funny the moment i think i know what had to happen next.
PS: I think i ended up liking the story at least enough to want to read more.

David is a Paladin, Stephen is a Battle Mage.
As for the Disney and FF, they will be going to many different worlds that belong to nether continuity. As for the ship building thing, they are just Air Ship building experts, The two boys will have to help them out allot.
