A derp trying to make sense of reality.

E

Years have past, with Twilight Sparkle remaining as the princess of friendship, with the 70th Summer Sun Celebration coming up. This is both one of the happiest and saddest events in Equestria, for Princess Twilight that is.

4548445 Thank you. It's a very beautiful piece of art! :pinkiehappy:

Very nice, while this topic has been addressed many time already, it's still a relevant one. It really depends on the person just how one might take immortality. I 'm pretty sure that the first centuries would be the hardest, but I'm also betting that after a good deal of compartmentalizing it would stop being an issue. I mean, as the old saying goes, get busy living or get busy dying. Since death isn't an option anymore, the Alicorns only have one way to go right? That being said I'll leave this little link here... (as a joke, no offense intended!:pinkiehappy:)
As for the mechanics of your story, the narrative felt somewhat awkward at times. I also didn't feel that Celestia's reaction to Twilight was in canon. Still it was a nice and short little read, thank you for your hard work.

4558873 Yeah.. I agree :ajbemused: As a writer, I'm still pretty new to the whole system. But, I learned a little bit more thanks to you! :pinkiehappy:

Nice story. Short but sweet.

The feels! :fluttershysad: Very well done; I enjoyed this muchly. Although...
Y U NO HAVE CADENCE!
Just kidding, although Cadence rocks. As always, good job and keep up the good work!

This is a nice story, I've always thought it sad that Twilight would linger on after the others. I wonder if Luna and Celestia had friends they saw pass away too?

I have only one problem, and that's the fact that it says "Seventieth Summer Sun Celebration". Somewhere in the show they mention that the Summer Sun Celebration is to celebrate the fall of Nightmare Moon over one thousand years ago. Assuming it's annual shouldn't that number be over a thousand?
Unless of course you mean seventieth since the return of Luna, that would make more sense.

5439911 Back then when I wrote this story a long (And I mean long) time ago, I was going for the seventieth celebration since the return of Princess Luna. (Now that I think about it, when I threw in the word, "Seventieth", I think I went a bit overboard with numbers there.)

And I don't think it's too overboard at all. Assuming the mane six are in their twenties in the show (which is what I assume), it would have to be seventieth at least for them all to have passed away.

The moral is: What good is immortality if your friends and family are dead?
