“This isn’t going to take long, right?” Twilight Sparkle bit her lip as she glanced at the large dark cloud over her home. A couple of pegasi were preparing the cloud for a big storm.
“Don’t worry about it,” Rainbow Dash said while floating in the air near Twilight. “You said the tree was beginning to feel dry anyway. A nice rainstorm is just what it needs.” Dash then returned to preparing the storm cloud.
“I know,” Twilight smiled at her friend, “it’s nice that you’re doing this and all, but I’m still a little worried about the books.”
Applejack patted Twilight on the shoulder. “Don’t worry sugarcube. Worse things have happened to the library, like a certain sleepover.”
Twilight giggled a little, remembering the crazy sleepover she, Applejack, and Rarity had had. “I guess you’re right. But I’m just a little anxious about the books, a few of them are from the Canterlot library.”
Applejack raised an eyebrow.“Why do ya need books from there? Ain’t ya got all the books ya need in the library?”
“Normally, but I’ve been trying to find books on Tartarus and only the Canterlot library has anything on it.”
“Why even bother studying about that place? From the sound of things, it seems like a mighty nasty place to go to.”
“That’s the thing though, I didn’t actually go there." Twilight trotted back and forth as she spoke. "There’s just this really big gate that leads to Tartarus and that’s what Cerberus guards. I mean, the gate looked pretty solid, I couldn’t even see the top of it, but I’m still worried. What if one of the monsters inside escapes? We were all able to get Cerberus back to the gate this time, but what if it happens again? I have to know just what lies within Tartarus.”
“Um,” Spike tugged at Twilight’s mane to get her attention, “not to use a really bad pun, but shouldn’t you just let sleeping dogs lie?”
“Not if the sleeping dog is something like Discord,” Twilight replied. “Besides, it’s not like I’m ever actually going back there.”
“Okay.” Spike still looked at Twilight with slanted eyes. He knew Twilight’s quest for knowledge often overwhelmed her common sense, “Just be ca— jeez!” Spike ducked just as a lightning bolt zoomed past him, singeing his tail.
“Derpy!” Dash yelled.“Again?”
“Sorry, Rainbow Dash!” Dash facehoofed in response to Derpy’s klutziness.
Applejack looked up at the cloud and then looked back at Twilight. “Maybe it would be a good idea to move those books.”
The hairs were sticking up on Fluttershy’s neck as she trotted through the Everfree forest. Angel had an upset stomach and nothing she’d tried had helped. Twilight was sorting out a mess that had been caused by an arranged storm over her house, so Fluttershy didn’t want to bother her. That left Zecora as the only option. “Come on Fluttershy, you can do this,” she said to herself as she walked through the dark forest. “It’s for Angel’s sake. Besides, the Everfree isn’t so scary when you th— ”
A loud thud caused Fluttershy to jump a few feet into the air, but she quickly fell to the ground and hugged herself. “W-what was that?” Fluttershy’s eyes darted around the forest as she cowered on the ground. “Oh, please don’t be a monster.” Fluttershy listened closely for any noises, but didn’t hear anything. “M-maybe whatever it was went away. “Oh, I hope it didn’t hurt any animals... I... I have to go check if anything got hurt.” Fluttershy took a deep breath and moved to where the thud had come from.
She walked into a clearing and her mouth dropped. Lying in the middle of the meadow was an unfamiliar pony. His coat was tan and his mane was black; he wore a blue vest and a straw hat. His cutie mark was exactly the same as the hat he was wearing. There was a small scar under his left eye. But the odd thing was that he was in what appeared to be a giant paw-like crater.
“Oh no!” Fluttershy rushed over to the pony and quickly tossed him on her back. “It’ll be okay! We’ll just get you to Zecora!” Fluttershy looked at the paw crater for a second. “How could I have not noticed a ursa minor in the in the woods?” The question lingered in her mind as she darted off to Zecora’s hut.
“... so I just picked him up and brought him here,” Fluttershy finished explaining to Zecora.
Zecora nodded and then looked over at the still sleeping pony. She noticed that his eyes were starting to twitch. “It seems our unfamiliar friend is about to awaken once again.”
“Oh, thank goodness, I was so worried.” Fluttershy trotted next to the pony.
“Where—” the pony slowly started to open his eyes, “where am I?”
“It’s okay, you’re in Zecora’s hut... oh, but, um, you probably wouldn’t know that if you’re from out of town.” Fluttershy said.
“A tourist would be most likely to tread through the Everfree so lightly.”
“Whoa! A talking zebra! That’s so cool!” The pony immediately stood up and rushed over to the zebra.
“Oh my, you seem quite energetic and a little hectic.” Zecora trotted back a few inches.
“I’m just glad he’s okay,” said Fluttershy. The pony craned his head at Fluttershy.
“Oh, wow! A talking flying horse!” The pony now rushed over to Fluttershy. “I mean, there was Pierre in Skypeia, but he couldn’t talk! That’s awesome!”
“I... um...” Fluttershy choked on her words. Oh, he’s like Pinkie! I don’t know how to deal with that much energy in a stallion! “Are... are you feeling okay?”
“Hmm? Well...” Luffy brought a hoof up to his muzzle. “Ahh!”
“What?” Fluttershy instinctively cowered and covered her head.
“I have hooves! That’s so weird!” The pony turned his head and looked over his body. “What did that bear guy do to me?!”
“Oh no!” Fluttershy quivered as she quickly stood back up. “Did you lose your memory? “Do you know what you are?”
“That’s a stupid question. I’m Luffy, the future pirate king.”
“Y-y-you’re royalty? But... but I thought only the Princesses could be rulers.”
Luffy raised an eyebrow at Fluttershy. “You only need to get the one piece to be the king. Who are the Princesses?”
“They’re the leaders of Equestria and... oh my,” Fluttershy turned toward Zecora, her eyes were wide like dinner plates. “I think he must have hit his head too. Is there anything you can do to help?”
“Regarding loss of memory, I am unsure if I have the proper remedy,” Zecora replied.
“But he doesn’t even know about the Princesses.”
“Um,” Luffy patted his stomach with a hoof, “just wondering, do you have any food?”
“Oh yes,” Fluttershy eagerly replied, “I’ve got a bunch of grass, and oats, and daisies, and even a few ro-”
“Ya got any meat?” Luffy interrupted.
“Meat?” Fluttershy didn’t understand the question.
“Ya know cows, pigs, fish... just something to eat.” Fluttershy’s face drained of color with each animal Luffy listed. “You okay?” Even Luffy couldn’t have missed Fluttershy’s shock.
“Eeeee!” Fluttershy rushed out Zecora’s door and instantly disappeared into the forest.
“What’s her problem?” Luffy asked Zecora.
“Perhaps return of memory is the right cure,” Zecora anxiously looked at Luffy,”for you see, of meat ponies do not usually procure.”
“What?”
“Eating meat is most forbidden, for ponies of that I am certain.”
“Noooo!” Luffy passed out in shock.

ONE PIECE!!! WHOOO!!!
I think I know why you chose to omit the other straw hats...
Oh yeah. Zoro would chop up everything with One-sword style, Sanji's bucks would obliterate everything, Nami would con everyone, Usopp, Robin and Chopper....they'd be ok. Franky and Brook would scare everyone shitless.
I miss Onepiece. Did they ever get through the childhood filler stuff? I miss my drug- er, one of my favorite animes!

The time is the Great Pirate Era. Countless pirates fight desperately for the One Piece, the great treasure left behind by Gold Roger
It's actually Gol D. Roger. Gold Roger was the 4kids version where they essentially GUTTED most of the story.
Not to say it was a bad show, I liked the English intro more than the MANY japanese ones, I just liked the original one more.

Find the Funimation translation (they were pretty far along last I checked) or watch it in Japanese online. I'm guessing you aren't up to date, and no spoilers anyway, but Gol D. Roger's nickname from the government actually was Gold Roger, like Luffy is Straw Hat Luffy.
There were a few minor things that were incorrect in the story, mostly punctuation errors, but well written overall.
Also, I wonder if as a pony Luffy would even be able to digest meat. 
But then, he is Luffy.

Yeah, I know my grammar has issues and I apologize for that.
And for those of you not caught up with the series yet Here's the official website I don't know how many dubbed episodes are up on Funimation's site but I believe everything except for the CP9 (coming this summer though 
yay favorite arc) and Thriller Bark (i.e. the point where you realized 4kids seriously bucked up) is there subbed or buy the collection sets for this awesome series.

If you will remember in the Impel down arc of the series luffy got seriously poisoned to the point of death the only option was for Emporio Ivankov to use a super powerful healing hormone to cure him of his poison a side affect of this not yet known is that luffy is immune to almost all deadly and non deadly poisons (learned this in the fishman island arc) i mearly find it odd that he could survive a poison that could kill a whale but poison joke can make him pass out
