Based on the fan-animation "Snowdrop" by Silly Filly Studios.

Cover art by haruliina.

For as long as she can remember, Snowdrop has lived with her mother, Princess Luna. In spite of Snowdrop's inability to see, Luna has always believed in her, and Snowdrop has always loved the quiet beauty of the night. Both mother and daughter love and support each other, and could not imagine being apart.

However, life has not always been easy. The night, Luna's eternal domain, has consistently been met with indifference and even fear. Snowdrop's blindness has made it hard for other ponies to take her seriously, even with her royal status. And they both struggle to live up to the standards set by their royal heritage.

Even so, these struggles may be nothing more than the shadow of a far greater danger; one which, left unchecked, could destroy everything Snowdrop holds dear.

That was....amazing, the feels miles. Cheers

"How does the moon look tonight, mommy?"

"It definitely is," said Luna with a smile.

I think you accidentally this conversation a bit. Other than that, cute story. Looking forward to more.

Those puns aren't very punny.....
oh god that was horrible

interesting i'll keep an eye on this one. :derpyderp2:

I just clicked on the story... Anybody know how to remove tear ducts?

“I’m glad you did,” said Snowdrop. The truth is, even if it is cold and dark, I actually like winter.”

Missing quotation marks

“I certainly hope I did,” said Snowdrop. “My mother would be quite disappointed if I didn't do well.”

5964630 I'm sorry friend, its an incurable and contagious disease. I can only advise that you stay home to prevent it from spreading. Large volumes of ice cream can help relieve the pain, but not cure it.

ok

I hate Celestia

Okay either this is pre-character development that leads her to be the character Celestia was in MLP or someone gave her an idiot ball.

Not to mention their is at least one group of ponies who would always value the night even in this era. Sailors, it is the night stars that were our first aids in navigation and even still a final method of navigation when all others fail. With the moon comes the tides, and whether or not ships may enter port. Their must always be sailors on deck to make sure the ship successfully sails through the seas.

Which adds a bit of fridge brilliance to Pipsqueak "The Pirate" calling Luna the best Princess.

6099168 6098459 My headcanon is that Celestia a lot more serious strict, and even arrogant before Luna's fall from grace. Since that hasn't happened yet, Celestia is still a far cry from the kind, generous, and playful ruler we see in canon.

So as you said, this is indeed pre-change Celestia and is not like her show self. However here I don't see her being really strict in her way of dealing with snowdrops, she appears to be more of a prick and petty character (which she probably is). From your description I would have expect her to be more cold and detached toward Snowdrops. That may be just me, but dealing with a character like that would be somehow beneath her. But right now we don't have any reason for her to be that mean to a child, maybe it has to do with the fact that Luna chose a commoner and blind child as her adopted daughter and that it brings imbalance and jokes in her court, but right now without explanation it seems strange.

I'll wait and see where you go with this fiction because I think it has potential.

I hope you stare at the sun too long and go blind Celestia!

Oh, great story by the way

6109044 One of my favorite authors likes my story! Awesome! :pinkiehappy:

Celestia, you bitch...:twilightangry2:

Aww, such a sweet story. Please keep on writing, I can't wait for the story to come into full swing!

also, I think its called The Castle of the Two Sisters, not The Everfree Castle.

I thought Snowdrop was an orphan? Wasn't that implied, at least?

“You know,” Snowdrop said quietly, “if you're going to tell me that I can't do anything, you should at least try to show what you can do by yourself.”

BURN!!

6099692 still gonna hit her with my beatin' stick.

Well you ate the not only one who needs to stop being lazy XD
Also interesting turn on the story. I shall wait another year for the next update.

i do not like how you made celestia and adatude she dose repersent the element of generostity. if i may say tho i like the way luna is so i might not fav it but i do upvote it. i am a bit of a critic when pepole make celestia a total fucking bitch. so with that said i bid thee fare well.

night shadow

Well if these ponies wish to build a town might I recommend a coastal area? As I stated in chapter 3 perhaps the greatest lovers of the night would be sailors and navigators because while they can find there latitude (how far north or south they traveled) via the sun unless they have a reliable chronometer their only way to tell their longitude (how far east or west) was studying the moon and its distances.

This is so good, please write more!:scootangel:

Really like this story, it's very sweet. Luna thinking of Snowdrop as the 'only one that mattered' says a lot about her relations to other ponies as well.

Hello, are you still active?
