This story is a sequel to A Dragon's Memorial
Spike had watched them fade but they were not gone. The Elements of Harmony, long since taken back from the tree to fight off one of Equestria's enemies, now sit dormant in Spike's everfree cave. Though Equestria has ever been the peace loving center of harmony it has never been short on enemies and now that the six mares that were its greatest defence have passed away it is only a matter of time until these enemies decide to strike.
Now Spike must do his part to ensure the safety of the nation that raised him.

This is very true, especially considering that being the spirit of chaos is hardly going to be beneficial for him having a stable lifestyle for the rest of eternity. I have to agree with Spike, it's pushing it enough that Discord can be harmonious, considering the two words are antonyms, but to be harmonious for all eternity is too much,.

I really likes this history, even though it had this "rushed", to put it lightly, ending. But I guess this was a best case scenary for a canceled story. Writing long stories is hard, I can sympathize, I myself have 2 that need to be updated urgently!
