Jade (both types) are metamorphic stone, so it's not gems. It's a pretty random story, but fluff really doesn't have to have a point does it.
Other than that Rarity needs to cool her jets, she is going to be a milf with baby maker hips. Those are damn sexy.

Being one dude in a family of four women, I've had to put up with a few similar occurrences as an uncle of 6 nephews.
Well you almost lost me at Twilight having a baby with Brad... but it was so well written up until that point that I had to finish... and I'm glad I did... I will give you two hundred fifty-three points. Also a Kudos for adorably pregnant Rarity.

I prefer pony Rarity and dragon Spike to be shipped, but this one seems like it'll be pretty good, too.
I'm not really a fan of Spike/Rarity (or those superfluous tags, for that matter) but I figured I'd drop by to let you know you've got an embarrassing error in your synopsis there.
Tense shift there, and right where everypony can plainly see it. Might want to fix that.
