If one of their hair-brained attempts actually worked, I can't imagine what they'd do next to help Scootaloo and Apple Bloom on their path toward a mark.

I don't recall there ever being a canon age for them, so any age given to them is all speculation, and besides, the age requirements (If any) are most likely different in Equestria, including being an adult by the time you turn ten.
Eh, not really a big fan of Scootaloo being an adopted sister of Rainbow Dash. Other than that, the story was alright.

Kinda surprised that no-one else mentioned that tails really don't work that way. Theoretically, it's comedy so I should be able to handwave it, but practically, I go 'eeeeigh! Yeah, there is no way you can cut the tail off ..basically anything that has a tail of note, without cutting through flesh and bone. No way your subject sleeps through that'.
I kept reading in hopes that it would be addressed, but ultimately nope.

In the Cheese Sandwich episode, it was Rainbow's birthday and the number of candles on her cake was 21. Though there could have been more on the other side of the cake, this seems to be the correct age for what most believe is the youngest Mane 6. Also Fluttershy openly stated that she was 1 year older than Pinkie.
