((I was rather upset when I found out the site changed the names of the characters for April Foals Day :( Did you notice it? Like, how P.I.N.K.I.E....P.I.E became Surprise, Rainbow became Firefly, R.a.r.i.t.y = Sparkle and so on. Oh well, let's hope it goes away after April Foal's Day :D ))

...Objectively... it's a pretty good story.
Subjectively... not so much. Sorry, but you're trying to write a follow-up to an emotional masterpiece. It's a large shadow to be writing under.
The story could use some depth and length. It needs that emotional investment. Part of My Little Dashie's appeal was getting the reader to connect with the main character and invest emotionally through thorough description of the main character and his experiences. (The other part was the making it seem so realistic and the home-run whammy of the death-like parting in this parent-kid relationship; after all, they supposedly won't ever be able to communicate ever again; it was also touching how the main character seemed stronger from this experience).
