HEY! What made it possible for The Hero to save the world was that time was STOPPED (relatively speaking), in the safe zones. And the tension came in the final chapter when they COULD NO LONGER turn back time!
And then Pinkie wins. Or destroys the multiverse.
This should be interesting.
What I like about this? Is that the time limit is short enough, and the goal important enough, that Twilight isn't going to be able to level grind until she's a god-mode-sue like the monstrosity that is the Loops series.

Plot Twist: Dark Lord doesn't actually want to destroy the world. He just knows that the Princesses will use time travel to try and stop him.
So what he really wants is for the Princesses to screw up the timeline enough that he can accomplish his TRUE nefarious purposes...whatever they are.

As such, I'm hoping what I'm doing here is different enough to that story that things don't get awkward. Especially since this story is based more around a video game, and less on the Groundhog Day concept.

While Eakin's is more serious, your's is blatantly being played for laughs. The basic concept is the same but even the mechanisms of the time loop are different. Both a very different, very good stories. Finally, which video game is this story (presumably loosely) based on?

In the game time stops when you're in town or in cut scenes, and you level up faster than normal. Twilight doesn't have that advantage here.

This is an example of the fencepost error. It's actually the fourth time in one and a half minutes, since you don't start counting until the world ends the first time.
