Also you've been doing a good job of using other characters within the story (A.K.A. The guards and princesses) to explain the weird fireworks jargon.

I just got into reading this fanfic, now having read all 4 chapters, and I must say, your doing a really good job! The plot seems to be going well so far, and I have an ever- so- slight feeling that a Great and Powerful Unicorn will be in Ponyville soon enough

Also, the characters are easy to relate to, whether it be Firecracker, being too easy to take things for granted, or Sparks, being shy around mares, but it's nice your cleaning up these flaws with some character development. I can't wait for Chapter 5!

4697408 Don't know. I never set a limit for myself. When you set limits, things get rushed and they aren't very good. I can tell you though, it probably wont be a short story.

I hope whoever started the fire gets punished to the full extent of the law, and then some. I think being locked in a cage surrounded by ten chain-smoking unicorns that burn the offender over the course of three days would be sufficient.
Also, good fic, the pacing is a tad weird at times, but the quality is good, and the dialogue flows well for the most part.

How many other performers came to Ponyville, talked in the third person when doing their stage show, had an Ursa Minor led to their wagon, got showed up because they didn't expect the Ursa Minor (that is my theory, and I'm sticking to it), and then got chased out of the town? Of course it's Trixie!
