Sand is rock
That is so small
It is hard to hold
In your hoof.
It runs from your hoof
As you pick it up
Trying to escape.
Perhaps it remembers
A time
When it was bedrock
And it is trying
To escape
Back to that time.
But it can't
Because time
Only goes forward
And rocks
Can't escape
Time.
da meaning....
Even rocks can learn to change and adapt like water.
That was pretty deep.
That is so beautiful.
This is like one of those little things you see in a busy day that makes your day a bit better than before.
This is brilliant, and the meaning is truly wonderful.
This reminds me of one of my favorite songs:
"Little pebble upon the sand,
now you're lying here in my hand.
How many years have you been here?
Little human upon the sand,
from where I'm lying here in your hand,
you to me are but a passing breeze."
Namaste little humans
Tsk. Maud, sand is mostly ground down sea shells, not bedrock

Depends where you are. Most sands are inorganic, though.

Belgium. Our coast is sandy beaches all the way, and it's all sea shell sand.
GEEZ this one felt dark!
NOOOOOOOOO

I apparently never said this, but I enjoyed that song.
Surprisingly dark for a poem about sand
Memories of a long-lost glory… these are good poems.
