Picked this up from DA and was reading it on my phone on the way to work.  I'm liking this take on Nightmare's return.  Why is everything you write so engaging?

One of the things I never got was the total lack of common sense on behalf of Nightmare Moon.

She wants ponies to love her night. Fair enough. But without sun there are no plants and the planet starts to freeze over. Sooner or later, everypony will be dead and then no one would be able to enjoy her night on account of being corpses.

What is her long term plan for this?

Wow... This story had me hooked from the first paragraph. And that cliff hanger ending...

I keep having this thought play through my head that Spike ends up being the Element of Magic instead of Twilight and the group blasts both of them... but I don't see that happening. Evil confident Twilight is... very intriguing. She is also extremely competent and capable.

First off, really liked the story another quality piece of work from you. My one criticism is that Twilight seems a touch evil for her situation. Yes, she's taken NMM as a friend, confidant and lover but she still has grown up with Celestia and the prevailing mores of Equestria; thus I have a hard time believing she's been so changed to actively wish death upon other ponies.

For this last bit I could be way off base, but upon some reflection, I couldn't help but feel  "What Could Have Been" by Dragryphon had some parallels/influence on this story.

i WondereD how long till update then realized that pony will get around to it eventually hopefully when he next updates not only update this story but also finish "the empty room" i've been waiting ages for that one to update. lol

I enjoyed this, but I feel you could have spent more time developing Twilight and Nightmare Moon's relationship in the dream world. I would have like to have seen some of those training sessions, maybe even seen the moment of realization on Twilight's part from her perspective. I think it would have added a lot of depth to the relationship and made it less hallow.

I like the concept, but it would better if she were less of a bitch towards Spike. Also, the "flirting" is unnecessary and takes away from her character. If she's in love with Nightmare Moon, then what's she doing flirting with random guys? It's still Twilight, even if she's twisted.

This is such a great story, it's the one I always check first for an update when I open my browser. Seriously, I have 29 other FiMFiction tabs for the stories I'm currently reading (on this site), but this one always draws my attention first. The Empty Room has gone without a chapter for so long that it's background noise in my head by now: it's always there, but I can ignore it until the wondrous day when the newest chapter is finished. Sweetie Chronicles I just started reading today and am now up to date, so I've yet to feel the sting on that one. This story, on the other hand, is drilling a hole in my brain.

The worst part is not even seeing a progress percentage for this story on your bio, that just makes me sad. Though I see great strides being made on your bigger projects, so I guess you won't be touching this until those are finished... and that just pulls me in opposite directions emotionally, so I'll just say keep writing, because you're doing an awesome job

(And no, I don't have an Evil Twilight fetish, why would you even think that? )

I loved all the comeo parodies you put in here. From Lina's Giga Slave incantation from Slayers being remade for the Moon dream incantation, to “Puff” the magic dragon.   I have to wonder if I missed some going through also.

This story is just... the concept is so inspired, I love everything about it. Curbing her thoughts as a mare, the method of shocking Celestia in a completely surprising manner, and even the one liners like “I’ve waited too long for this! I’ll kill them!” It was hilarious seeing Twilight say this, given the context. Also, the saucy humor, like with Applejack saying “sample it?” and Twilight leering at the farmer while the she looks around uncomfortably confused. You rock man.  

I think my only criticism is that Twilight seems to be a little harsher to Spike than I think the dragon would take while still considering her a friend/mother/sister etc.

Epicness!!!!! I just wonder how things will pan out. I just hope that Twilight won't get her heart broken. That would suck... That, and what will become of Celestia. Either way, I can't wait to find out.

This is a very promising idea, but I'm afraid the writing's not quite up to it. A bit more polish to the sentence structures, for example, would make this great.

I'm a bit shocked at how Twilight has grown to be. Her infatuation towards NMM is bigger than her love for Celestia, it seems...if it even still exists. Again, I'm a bit shocked as it seems she doesn't care at all about Celestia. She did say "evil is a matter of persective", so why does it look like she has no care whatsoever about the other party who was considered "good"?

BAH! I still believe this whole mess will result in something good...eventually. I'm sure if NMM truly is evil, then Twilight will see it. A story of love and betrayal, perhaps?

I might agree with a few comments, i can see Twilight loving Nightmare Moon, but its not like Celestia hasn't been there for her as well, as a friend, i hope that Celestia isn't neglected, and that maybe in this story that Twilight can be used as a bridge between Celestia and Nightmare Moon, and that the two can learn to share Equestria... and maybe Twilight as well.

please tell me this story is going to get updated cause that was some epicly awsome and original shit right there.

I seriously like this version of things. Especially the scene in Celestrias throneroom was amazing. However, as things started to get real, i just dropped my kindle with an OH GOD PLEASE NO. Because i seriously don't want to read about poni vaginas. However, still great story. Would love to hear  more, maybe with just a little less detailed descriptions.

And that makes re-read number eight... or is it nine? Can't remember. Seriously though, I can't wait to see how this turns out.

However, if they die and that puts Twi in an emotional state that NMM can take advantage of... then they die. I won't stick to minor canon nuances when they really don't matter at all. Hell, Twi's parents were seen when she got her cutie mark and they didn't appear until the second wedding took place. They're an afterthought at best. Again this happened before Season 2, so Shining Armor never existed and I will not go back and add him or even mention him either when he's irrelevant.
