Great story, by the way! Reflects the VN very well, even if it's extremely similar. The visual novel is brief, heartwarming and sweet - identical to this one.
This is a wonderful story, this is one of the stories I have been looking for in a long time. I hope you go a long way, and I hope this story lasts a while. Though I don't want to believe it, it seems the main plot will only be able to go so far. Add something big. Make it last!

Weirdest thing ever happened... I have my iPod playing music in the background through my library of like... 70 pony songs. As I come to the point where Pinkie is talking about singing "Smile", it also comes on from the playlist as well...

When I first saw this in the Googledoc ( Eeyup people, I saw this in advance) I was awestruck just how well you captured the novel in pony form.

I really enjoyed that Pinkie Pie was totally in character. It made this seem like it could be an episode I see one Saturday
I haven't read the VN Ripples, but I absolutely loved this.
At first the Protagonist made me frown at his comments about the kittens. I have a bit of a soft spot for cats.
I wasn't sure what to think of the Protangonist at first. his Personality and outlook are the opposite of mine. I'm very much like pinkie, i love to make people smile and laugh and try to find something positive for funny in most things in life.
so his very pesamistic attitude didn't sit well with me at first, but i loved how pinkies infectious optimism and happiness broke through to him, it made me smile and feel a lot better there at the end. 
i love a story a story that can stir my emotions. be it positively or negatively, and even better if both. Great job.
