Everything changed when the letter arrived at her door. Twilight Sparkle opened it, thinking it to be nothing but a letter from her former mentor, or perhaps something from an adoring fanfilly. When she read the message within, she realised that this was not the case. Instead, it contained a terrifying ultimatum from a mysterious kidnapper: she would find a way to rob the supposedly impregnable royal vault beneath Canterlot Castle, or do nothing and let her friend Fluttershy die.
Panicked, and with no other choice, the princess decided to cast a spell to summon some of the best thieves for the job. Little did she know that it had a wider reach than she had first expected.

i going to guess that they aren't going to steal from the repository under canterlot why because the kidnapper would get off way to easily and they could just kidnap another one of her friends or possibly there family's.
I just want to say that I like were this is going and I can't wait to see more.

Ok, I know the whole plot involves some kidnapper threatening to kill Fluttershy if Twilight goes running to the Princesses for help, but I've already found a little way to abuse the hell out of the letters wording: Why not ask DISCORD to get the kidnapping bastards? Being a god of Chaos, he'd certainly be powerful to do so, and since this is well into Season 4 (after he'd been converted to good with FLUTTERSHY'S help, mind you), he'd be a friend to Fluttershy above anything else. Also, his reality warping powers would also be more than enough to short-circuit whatever execution device the bad guys have: even if the kidnapper had a gun pointed point-blank at Fluttershy's head, Discord could easily turn it into a harmless pop-gun/squirt-gun, or even blink the kidnapper right out of existence before he could pull the trigger.
Or, if that's a little TOO convenient, just have him be able to point out where the bad guys are, and then have Michael, Trevor and Franklin pull a rescue mission - it'd be easy enough for Twilight and her pals to fake planning to rob the Canterlot Vault to keep the kidnappers happy, while the GTA V crew sneaks in and takes the kidnappers by surprise. If it's all the same to the three, a partial payment from the Vault should be just enough to tide them over - well, okay, maybe not Trevor, but Mike and Frank can easily calm him down enough to go along with it, right?

Even better scenario: The whole thing initially turned out to be Discord pulling a sick prank on Twilight, who wanted to see if the newest Princess really would rob from her mentor to save Fluttershy, and Fluttershy herself is actually completely okay. ...............initially. Until an even greater villain came around and snatched Fluttershy away and putting her in actual mortal danger and sending out a battered Discord to the Mane Five and to officially make the threat legitimate.

Statistically, this is a bluff. From a personal standpoint, I can see why they didn't take the chance.
