Do you mean the Elements which defeated enemies which no other race could? Do you mean Twilight disobeying orders and studying about Nightmare Moon so she could defeat her? Do you mean the ponies that hold up the sun and the moon? By military force, do you mean the day or the night guards? Have you considered if you combine strong enough magical telekinesis with spears, you might get a rail gun? Or by military force, are you referring to the one Shining Armor is part of, who, along with his wife, can single hoofedly create a shield large and strong enough to protect an entire city?

Changelings were weak individually, Sombra didn't even had any offensive capabilities outside of CRYSTALS! NMM was all talk. Stabby stabby and voila, no more NMM. Discord were the most dangerous, yeah.

Changelings didn't need to be strong. If they were in anything but an incredibly close group of friends, they could slice your carotid artery before you even noticed them betraying you. Sombra was powerful enough that he almost single hoofedly took out an entire city, and almost got past its defense system, alone. It also took both princesses to fight him. Night Mare Moon was all talk; why would she want to immediately kill all her subjects? And Dicord's power hasn't even truly shown any limits yet! We don't even know if he can get sick, or if he's just faking it.
Yes, but they could create a continual eclipse in one area by just moving them, starving all the crops of sunlight. They could move the sun slightly closer to one region of their planet. Luna could spin the moon faster, creating powerful tides.
How can you say "it doesn't work that way" on something you literally can't have knowledge of? You don't know what the spears are made of, and you definitely don't know how magic works.
The changelings had to bash an entire army against the shield continuously, while their queen sucked away Shining Armor's power and made him generate a weaker shield. Only when Shining Armor was practically brain-dead were the rest of the changelings able to get through.
Yeah, their shields probably couldn't stop a nuclear bomb, but I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped some pretty strong directed explosives.
