Dull Mist

E
Source

The most precious things we have in life are our memories. Our recollections of the good good times and happy moments spent with friends, family, and loved ones. To the average pony, there is nothing in the world more valuable.

To some others though, a happy memory can be more of a curse than a blessing. And they may do anything to rid themselves of that curse.

Wow...just...WOW

A sad but beautiful story. And it also makes you think about Twilight's alicorn status and whether or not she's immortal.

Thankfully immortal/long-lived Twilight isn't canon.

“Not by yourself, you won't.”

Spike comes through again.

Oh I was thinking she was gonna cast avada kedava

[or however thats spelled] on herself

So many feels...I actually cried reading this. Some of the most beautiful, most heartfelt work I've ever seen, er, read.:pinkiesad2::fluttercry::raritystarry::twilightsmile::yay:

“Yes, I kept these feelings hidden from you, and no, there was nothing that you could do. To be honest, I still feel that way, occasionally, and while I try to suppress it, I know I never will be able to be completely comfortable with myself as a dragon living in a pony's world. That will never leave me, and this, Twilight, will never leave you.”

“Well, there's one benefit to having the lifespan of an alicorn. You get to spend more time with me and see how awesome I am!” he said with a cheeky grin.

Spike smiled and got to his feet. “Yeah, you're right.” his smile turned weak as he remembered something. “Oh, and uh...I may have accidentally broke one of your windows on my way here.” he said sheepishly.

Boundless loyalty? Teasing in the form of bragging? Window breaking? Huh, what do you know, Spike really is the new Rainbow Dash; she'd be proud of ya not-so-little buddy. :moustache:

....Okay, I bow before the master's craft. I've rarely seen a story with so much emotion this well written.

Fantastic, this.......................I'm completely at a loss of words with this....
This was simply amazing.

This is without a doubt one of the most fantastic stories I have ever read.

The long life span/immortal talk.:ajsleepy:
It has more meaning with its Spike. They started the journey of friendship together, and their going to see it to the end together.

And for creatures of their lifespan, who knows when that's going to be:pinkiehappy:!

This is an absolute masterpiece.

Oh look, it's another one of those fics that assumes Twilight is immortal, how original

What is she bucking thinking!?

Don't you mean fucking?

3916109
"Bucking" Is often used in place of "Fucking" in pony fanfics. And nobody really knows how long an alicorn lives, other than the fact that the lifespan of one is well over a thousand years, possibly tens of thousands. However, we know that the lifespan of an alicorn far surpasses that of a normal pony.

3916805 If the authors want to make 'em swear, they should use real swears. Not those childish ones

3916821
I suppose. But it's nice to see such an emotional story with the swearing kept to a minimum.

YOU DEVIL :flutterrage:

YOU MADE ME CRY :fluttershysad::fluttercry::applecry:

GIVE ME A HUG :raritycry:

3919075 Also, they don't swear in Equestria, except for "What the hay" or "For Pete's sake". Therefore, "Bucking", except for what Applejack does, doesn't exist either. Fanfic writers make Equestria too much like our world

I actually thought this was suicide stiry, so buck fith there... 3919082

3924308 More like "Fuck" fits better

3924316 yes, but that draws too much from it being cartoon based.
Using believable substitutions usually fathers the least possible haters, and using nothing gets the most.
Monster how you do it, somebodies (besides trolls) will hate.

I’m fairly new to the site funny this was the first spike story to catch my eye this was downright beautiful and covering a topic that hits close to home for me I loved it
