I'm liking the journal entry things but could it be a bit more formal? Or perhaps you could change it up so that he at least sounds like he is intelligent? I see the big words you've been using but how about a little bit more? Like instead of "me" say "thy". This, after all, is supposed to talk place back even before the Royal Sisters. Looking at the way Luna talks could help out a bit

4017102 Well, in my opinion, a personal journal isn't supposed to be formal. There's the way we speak to our superiors and strangers, and then there's the way we speak to friends. I feel journals should be written in the latter style.
On the subject of the language I use, the lack of "thy" and such things will make sense later on. So just keep checking back. Thanks for the favorite and like!

4143924 I'l explain it don't worry. Also, in the courts of the unicorn royalty, court wizard is just code for Royal fool, somepony who does little more than parlor tricks. Plus, the way I'm writing this, most unicorns aren't capable of any magic greater than levitation (aside from combat magic of course.)
