I write pony words. Millions of them. Some people actually think they might be worth reading. I am very thankful for that. Also, I have a Patreon now?

E

"Today, I decree that we shall have a snowball fight."

With those simple words, Princess Celestia completely turns the entirety of Canterlot upside-down, and relishes how wonderful life can be when it is at its simplest.

Nice story. I love your works.

Why does this have a sad tag? It was hilarious. Unless that part about snow death was actual death then it is sad. But it snow, snow cant do that. Right? Right!? Cool Story though.

That was quite something.
When I saw the description I was expecting, well a comedy/slice of life sort of thing. So the 'Sad' tag surprised me. In fact I was beginning to wonder if it was a mistake because I wasn't seeing anything sad. The I saw it.
Not heart breaking, gut wrenching sad, but sad nonetheless.

Lot of one-shots recently. Feeling stumped?

Well that was just depressing, an enjoyable read, but depressing nonetheless. All those expectations that Celestia is burdened with must really suck the life out of her. I couldn't imagine living like that.

3831451 Did you read the last third?

3831451
it's not super depressing or anything, but the sad part is that celestia had a great dream about the ponies having fun through a snowball fight, but then she wakes up to see the ponies arguing and fighting because of different social statuses and such.

3831639 She doesn't see them fighting, she just knows that that's the reality of the situation. This dream of hers would never work.

I love this without even reading it!

3831685 It might be best you read it...

FROSTBITE, BITCH.

:fluttershysad:

"Awww... Celly..." -hugs-

*Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria, looked down at the small, purple furry creature stuck to her upper right hoof. She raised an eyebrow and flung the creature away.*

"So mean..."

Ah, Tia, if only you could overcome your fears.

"Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been."
-John Greenleaf Whittier

I'll save it to read later xP I just know it will be as awesome as any of your writing Lord_BronyWriter!!!!:pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:

Aww I love it! How cute celestia just wants to have fun:heart:

3831637
I did but I didn't feel too sad. I guess reality doesn't sadden me. Bow that you explain it, it does make sense.

Aw... when even Celestia can't bring herself to just cut loose, if only for a day... man... that'd be FUN.

... Thing is? I could see the snowball fight actually being an episode in itself. Totally serious thing, not part of a dream.

My heart is crying. No snowball fights!:fluttercry:

Also, You misspelled "gentelcolts". I hope it is obvious this time that this is with the typo.

Pinkie Pie approves this idea! :pinkiehappy:

I loved it! For a moment I was unsure why it was tagged Sad, but by the end I got it. Poor stressed Celestia.

This is why Equestria needs Discord.

A funny and sad story at the same time.

She was a being who had lived for millennium, and who would live for many millennium after these ponies she was gathering now were gone.

First one should either be "a millennium", or "millennia" depending on how old Celestia is in your story.

Second should be millennia, plural. Though it reads a little awkwardly, and would probably best changed to "many more".

Not bad. I doubt Celestia has that much trouble scheduling a snowball fight, however (Oh look, I'm visiting the orphanage tomorrow, and oh, hey, _somepony_ decided it would snow tonight. _What_ are the odds?:trollestia:).
Still, suitably cheery and whimsical... right up until it gets rather depressing. Yes, I know, being a princess is nowhere near as much fun as a five year old girl might imagine, especially when actual ruling is necessary, but _Jeez_ it's not all _that_ bad.
A few points I should bring up -

She was a being who had lived for millennium, and who would live for many millennium after these ponies she was gathering now were gone.

The plural form of 'millenium' is 'millenia'. Unless you meant she is a thousand years old currently, in which case you want an 'a' before that first 'millenium'.

"Fire!"

:rainbowkiss:
Sorry, I've been waiting to see someone make this mistake. The term 'fire' as a synonym for 'launching projectiles' came into use due to the widespread adoption of gunpowder weaponry. Ponies don't seem to have gunpowder weapons, ergo, 'fire' would not be their 'launch' command. The best one is 'loose', as it can be used with thrown weapons, slings, and bows. 'Shoot' can also be used, although I feel that to be more appropriate with stringed weapons, such as bows and slingshots. "Release" can be used for any weapon which relies on tensioning material (including siege weapons like ballistae and the catapult family).

3836386

Do you remember 'May the Best Pet Win'?

Not only did Dash say the phrase 'fast like a bullet' in the song, but she also named her pet tortoise Tank. Thusly we can assume gunpowder weapons are at least known of in Equestria.

The theory I subscribe to is that Equestria used to be far more advanced, in the time before Discord. Discord's plunging the world into utter chaos caused a massive technological regression to take place. This would explain some scattered pieces of technology like Vinyl's turntables and Twilight's computers. Just a thought. :pinkiehappy:

3836790
Strictly speaking, 'bullets' have been in use as projectiles since Ancient Greece.
And 'tank' is the popularised code-name for the 'land-ship' project, with 'sail propelled wagons' having originated in China in the 6th century AD.
So - not necessarily.
Even if they did possess gunpowder weaponry, the fact of their still using spears and suits of armour in the Guard indicates that they're currently in the 'cannon' phase of development, meaning the term 'fire' would be limited to artilleryponies.
I also can't credit the idea that Discord caused the collapse of a technologically advanced civilisation - we _saw_ what the Ponies of yesteryear were capable of in the Hearth's Warming special. They were, if anything _less_ advanced than 'modern' Equestria.
Personally, I reckon the best explanation for Equestria's technology is the idea that the presence of magic retarded technological progress there, and so the modern tech we do see is the result of imports from foreign nations. This would explain why Twilight has an EKG in her basement, whilst Ponyville doesn't even appear to have streetlights.

3835162
This was her true motive for freeing him, all along.

3837604

It all depends on how long the time discrepancy is between Hearth's Warming and Discord's rise to power, doesn't it? I do see your point, but if other nations had the technology and Equestria imported it, well-to-do cities like Canterlot or Manehattan would have things like streetlights. Also, take into account that Ponyville is a very small town, and an agricultural one. Even today, some farming towns don't have street lights either. Also, ancient bullets were propelled by slings, which I doubt is fast enough to warrant a saying such as 'fast like a bullet.'

3837791
Ah - they kind of _do_. They quite clearly pass a lamp-post in Manehatten during their first few minutes there, and if you'll look at most scenes set in Canterlot, whenever they pass a street corner, there is a tall, black pole which is never fully in shot, which looks to be the lower portion of a classic London street light.
Ah - there are _towns_ that don't have basic infrastructure? Villages, I grant you, as their population wouldn't warrant the investment street lights would represent, but towns?
Also, the fact that Ponyville is the center of an agrarian community is the _perfect_ reason to take it as an indicator of the average level of technology in Equestria. They don't have the drive to adopt that is present in more mercantile population centers, and they don't have the excess money to spend on things which aren't proven to be worthwhile.
As for the speed of ancient bullets - by all accounts, the phrase 'faster than a speeding bullet' originated with 1940's superman, so their apparent lack of speed prior to that doesn't matter.
That said, the fastest a human could reliably travel up until the invention of the steam engine in the 19th century was 30mph, by horseback. This is in contrast to the _130_mph achievable by bullets from a sling. Whilst this isn't as impressive as the modern equivalent, by contemporary standards, such speed would be almost unthinkable.

3837940
Ok, fine. I'll concede the point :ajsleepy:

Good talk.

Interesting. I'm not sure what I think of this, though I gave you an upvote.

That was crazy...and dammitt Princess Celestia! You shuld of have said it!

This is Amazing. 'nuff said:pinkiehappy:

I totally would have done it.

C'mon Celestia! YOLO!

Well her yolo is a long one.

I didn't understand the sad tag until the end. :pinkiesad2:

Great story

regardless of class or race. ysocial stigma,
-yextraneous y yis yextraneous. :rainbowwild:

saw that Fancypants and the lieutenant of her guard, a rather large unicorn stallion named Iron Hoof, had eschewed snowballs and had moved on to snow swords, which they were now vigorously dueling with.
-Very nice touch. I imagine that the telekenesis to keep the swords retaining their shape while still not causing more than a light bruise (and probably not even that) is fairly advanced.

Luna's jaw dropped as she watched her sister throw her readied snowball. "Celestia, did... did you bring this about?!
-I recommend a closing quote-mark.

Luna gave it a single nod and whispered something to it that Celestia couldn't quite hear before she looked over at her sister. "Good morning to thee, Tia. Didst thou sleep well?"
-So I wonder if Luna gave her a dream, or if Luna KOed Celestia until Celestia's alarm woke Celestia?

-Regarding the ending, I think she should make it a goal. A lot of fanon has her as a social engineer, and she can do it over centuries.

Say it! You'll never know what they would say if you never ask/decree!

it was as dream?! Celly, baby. say it. that was a very adorable and cute story.
I'm sure plenty of ponies would love to bomb Blueballs (blood) with snowballs.
keep it up,
