Now back in Ponyville, my friends were busy directing the townsfolk, helping to build adequate defenses should the griffons get past our last line.

As I helped to erect [Are you really that immature?] a wall of sheet metal, I looked over my shoulder and saw Violet beckoning to me. Just behind her I could see Rhino walking over to Fluttershy with something in his hoof behind him.

~Go Rhino!~

+Please say he doesn't get rejected. I don't want him to stay back at our place since he moved into Shy's.+

I finished getting the sheet in place before I walked over to Violet.

"So. What's up?", I asked her as she led me toward my house.

~Is she trying to get with us?~

+I some what doubt it. She knows how devoted we are to AJ.+

~Good point.~

+Was that a compliment?+

~........I never said a word.......~

As we arrived, I opened the door and walked into the front room to see my dad.

"Dad? What are you doing here?", I asked, a little confused.

He opened his mouth to speak, but stopped when Violet walked out from behind me. Dad noticed the cut on her neck where the arrow had caught her, and rushed over, checking the wound.

"How did this happen?", Dad asked.

"A griffon front snuck in town and tried taking the Elements of Harmony. Violet was with them.", I explained. Violet remained unnervingly quiet.

"You ought to be more careful Violet.", Dad said looking up.

"Wait. Am I missing something here? Do you two know each other?", I asked, still somewhat confused.

Dad's eyes widened fractionally, "Uh, no. We met when you were at the clinic."

"Uh huh...", I wasn't convinced. You can pick up a few things of detecting lies when you're married to the Element of Honesty, "Anypony want a cup of tea?" [How many people stereotype the British for tea? Too many.]

"Sure.", Dad answered.

"Yes please.", Violet said, almost inaudible.

I left them in the front room while I went into the kitchen and put the kettle on. I could only grasp little bits of their conversation over the bubbling kettle.

"Are you trying to-", I heard my Dad's voice say.

"We have to tel-", Came Violet's reply.

"I can't. Not now.", Dad said, as the kettle finished boiling over.

I left the kettle to it's own devices along with the cups, and walked back in the room where both looked up at me.

"Ok. I want a straight answer. What the FUCK! Is going on?", I said, stomping a hoof down.

Dad hung his head, knowing he couldn't escape answering my question.

"Did you ever see your mother's will, Atom?", he said breaking the silence that had settled over the room.

"No. I was too busy running for my life in the Everfree.", I retorted sternly.

"As you know, being a journalist, she didn't have many belongings,  so therefore, not much was left for either you or your brother."

"Is this going somewhere?", I said becoming impatient for an answer.

"She left one final message, specifically to me...", Dad's eyes had welled up by now, deepening my confusion and frustration.

"You have a sister..."

That single revelation hung in the air, dominating all thoughts.

"And it's me.", Violet said, raising her gaze to me.

I took a step back, "T-That's not possible...surely it's not..."

"Atom, ", Dad stood, "Look at Violet. She looks just like your mother and you know it."

+I've never really thought about it...but she does Atom...+

~Her resemblance to mum is uncanny.~

"No!", I shouted.

"Atom, if you won't listen to me then maybe this'll help.", Violet stepped in front of me and her horn began to glow. When the glowing reached it's peak, she touched it to my forehead.

I gasped as a flood of memories rushed into my mind, all reinforcing the growing fact the Violet was indeed my sister.

When the memories stopped, I looked at my Dad.

"Why?", I said, lowering my glare to the floor, "Why didn't you tell me sooner."

"I only found out in the will Atom. Please, don't be angr-"

"Don't be angry?! HOW CAN I NOT BE ANGRY AT THIS?!", I yelled at him.

My anger was building further, far enough to let the Zephyr out...thank Celestia he was dead.

"Atom, please-", Violet tried.

"NO! HOW COULD YOU NOT TELL ME?!", I shouted at my father again.

When he didn't answer, my anger exploded and I tackled him, throwing us both through the window. Dad did his best to cover up as I pummeled my hooves into him.

Before I could attack again, a crimson aura engulfed me, holding me in place.

"Stop! Atom, he's your father.", she looked me straight in the eyes, "He's our father."

Dad stood up again, "I'm sorry, I think I need to go get a drink.", with a flash of his horn he was gone.

This only succeeded in fueling my anger though, and I blasted wind outwards, breaking Violet's aura and I shot off to the only bar in Ponyville.

The way to the bar meant I had to fly over where my friends were directing the proceedings. When I did they looked up and saw the speed I was going, instantly seeing something was wrong.

As I flew, Rhino, Glare and Janvier followed from bellow, while Dark, Naga, Frag, Blue and Zeph took to the skies, struggling to keep up with my pace.

In only a few minutes the bar was in sight, and I could already see the grey unicorn sitting outside with a drink in his hooves.

I landed near him with a thud and he looked up, not in the least surprised.

"I knew you'd follow me. I don't even know what the point in teleporting away was."

I was grinding my teeth together, struggling not to strike him right there, "Dad. You can stay in this town.", he raised his head expectantly, "But stay away from me. What you've done is unforgivable."

I turned away from him and began trotting toward my friends, when Dad started to move for the nearby Everfree path that lead to Canterlot. Just before my friends started to pounce on me with their questions, a faint click reached the edge of my hearing.

"Atom...", I heard Dad call. I snarled and turned again, to see him rigid on the path.

"I said leave me alone!", I shouted to him.

He looked over his shoulder to me, "...I think I just stood on a landmine..."

...Ho...ly...fuck...

I bet nobody saw that coming in the slightest! Hah!

Next chapter will be the longest I've ever posted, so expect it to be VERY long, and that does mean it's gonna' take longer to make.
