Delta 727

Ever since I became a Brony, I have always loved cross-overs. I made this account to finally write my own!

T

Sergeant Gary "Roach" Sanderson and Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley of Task Force 141 are revived in Equestria after being K.I.A. on the Russian-Georgian border. A massive combined evil force threatens to destroy the nation, and now the two must defend the ponies. Is there more to their arrival though?
Crossover with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Takes place between episodes 12 and 13 of Season 3.

This story was granted to me by JWR832, since he was unable to continue it. So, as one of his editors, I will be taking over. I will be consulting with him often, and he will be helping me change it to his liking. For my own purposes, all cursing (other than a few British words) will be omitted. I'm sorry if you don't like this, but it's just the way I write. Thank you all for supporting him, and I hope I can do almost as good as he did. This fic was just too good to die.

Featured February 5th, 2014. Keep it up, guys!

Sweet, finally good to see that you're continuing the story!
Keep dem chapters coming, appreciate you carrying the torch :pinkiehappy:

3899289 Gonna take me a while to catch it up. I'll do my best.

3899386 Well, I'm glad an author with experience and connections to the original author is doing it. Uber-Excited to see what's gonna happen!

3899396 JWR'll be a close contact of mine. I'm running every new chapter by him before I publish it.

3899399 Oh! Good! So, it'd be basically his writing! Because he'll have to approve of it, right?

3899401 It'll be mine. I just need to make sure he likes the sound of it.

3899410 Oh, so it's kinda like a final checkup.
He announced that the chapter came out, right?

So far I like it. That said, your firearms info is just painful. You don't insert a clip into a magazine. You insert a magazine into the firearm. A clip is a completely different thing. Other than that, Roach would be carrying near fifty pounds of guns, before you include the launchers/grenades/claymores. Let alone other gear/food/det set for the claymores, etc. Just what you listed would be darn near a hundred pounds of gear that any soldier would whittle down as fast as possible.

I'll happily help with the firearm aspects of the story if you like. Beyond that, keep up the good work.

3899539 Sorry, I didn't write this first chapter. I need to keep it as it is, for the original author.

3899550 Fair enough. Figured I'd offer at least :pinkiehappy:

The amount of ammo, explosives, gaer, etc. is completely ridiculous. What soldier of what military of what nation are given that much ammo and gear? The real life equivalent would be a car that holds 500 gallons of fuel or a high school student being given fourty text books.

still here waiting for the next chapter

Tsk. I wanted Roach to be the silent protagonist type... it's just more relatable to me you know?

either way, kudos to the original writer. any chance I'll hear Ghost scream 'RPG! SECOND FLOOR!' ?

'Roach! Take control of the predator drone!'

*Roach opens laptop

Comms:[AGM missile is online]

TARGET!

*lazes Canterlot Castle with the predator drone

Aaah? Aaaaahh? any chance the story will follow that route? :pinkiecrazy:

And all the other chapters are gone...
Oh Well being continues is better than stopping!

I hope twilight gets a broken leg this time around

Oh man great fic "WILL GHOST AND ROACH EVER GET BACK HOME. FIND OUT NEXT TIME":rainbowlaugh:

3899609 The Special Operations Task Force 141 of the United States Military of the USA. Have you played Modern Warfare 2? The amount of ammunition you have at the start of missions is insane compared to what they carry in real life. Any MW mission with anti-tank rockets you carry something like twelve :twilightoops:

3899539 3899609

Hiya friends

I went by the loadout you're given in the mission. It's wayyyyyy too much for a real human being to carry. But do CoD care? Nope.

Oh and also

I see you got tired of waiting for the mods and went ahead and made a new one xD

I prefer real life because I live this stuff.

3902221

I'm going receiving training before I join the military. I can already carry a massive amount of weight for long lengths of time and I can shoot any gun with extreme precision (28th best in my state). When I'm of age, I'm joining.

3902247

I'm kinda already prepared. I already meet all of the requirements and I take 4 hour walks/hikes for fun while ladened with about 70 pounds of weight. I have multiple black belts and I'm one of the best shooters in my state. Seals are also supposed to be intelligent, I'm an honor's student (ASIAN!!!). I have the mental strength too. I've literally fallen off a cliff, dusted myself off, and then climbed back up the cliff.

3902263 Jesus. You could probably get away with carrying 600 rounds, 10 claymores, four nades, two assault rifles, etc. lol

3902311

Try an AR15, AK47, M1 Garand, 3 1911s, S&W 686, .50 Desert Eagle, HK 380 compact, Benelli M3, Norinco 870, and about about six reloads and two extra boxes of ammo per gun. Why? I was carrying guns for my shooting buddies while we went looking for a good shooting spot. I think I hiked like 2.5 miles.

3902188 See, your "of age" comment doesn't mesh with the "I carried x x x x and x" statements. The laws do not work that way, sorry.

Barring that, as someone who has several friends in different units (including force recon) your attitude will need a major adjustment before they let you anywhere near that training. Ego gets people killed.

That said, I am not going to turn this into a slap fight, so I am stepping out of this story.

3902548

I live in the state of Arizona which is the most gun pro state in the US. Least gun control and least restrictions on carrying, owning, permits, etc. In Arizona, minors can carry guns like that. Also, I will agree with your statement about my attitude. I'm just a bit cocky because I have a lot of traits and skills to back me up.

3902570 And I live in Alaska, where anything is legal. Hell, I sold guns for nearly a decade. My point was simple. You are of age to join the military at 18. At this time, you are not old enough to join the military, so 18<

Either way I'm out.

Per AZ law, you cannot carry any firearm without a parent present until you are 18. Handgun ammunition and handguns are right out without having a parent with you.
Long guns again are 18+ also.

Per the state of Arizona.
An unemancipated person under 18 not accompanied by a parent, grandparent, guardian, or a certified hunter safety instructor or certified firearms safety instructor acting with consent of the minor’s parent, grandparent or guardian shall not carry or possess on his person, within his immediate control, or in or on a means of transportation a firearm in any place open to the public or on any street, highway, or on private property, except private property owned or leased by the minor or the minor’s parent, grandparent, or guardian.

My shooting buddies include my gun nut uncle (has a class 3 license, pyro technics license, and firearms instructor certified), my gun nut cousin, and my father. Maybe I bring a friend or a douche who believes military anything is easy (watching them shoot a .50 DE is so fun. They always get hit in the face!). All in all, it's legal as my uncle and father are always with me (they support the military thing) when I do something like that.

3902641 Ah ok. That is more reasonable. The way you wrote it earlier came across as a "I own..." etc. Btw, calling it a class 3 license just makes you look silly. There is no license. It is a $200 per weapon tax paid to the .gov.

Either way, it is nice to see more shooters out there, especially young ones.

Here's a photo of one of my toys. (took the shot myself)

fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2014/032/c/6/ruger_gp100_wiley_clapp_by_aknorthpolar-d74ol7o.jpg

3902676

I know it's not an actual license but I prefer to call it a class 3/III license (the class 3/III refers to how you can now but Class III/destructive weapons) because it is much faster than saying I have to pay an extra tax to the government every year (you know it's true).

Sidenote: That's a beautiful revolver! Ruger GP100 is a nice revolver but I'm a bit partial to the 1911. Here's a picture of my (Technically my father's but he's going to give it to me when I turn of age) 1911. Technically, it's a Argentine clone of the 1911 but who cares!! It's from 1942 and has been used in WWII!

i.imgur.com/9SWHUtg.jpg

Another sidenote: ever watch that one person that just fails with a gun?

3902717 I'm a big 1911 fan myself. I just have to finish saving up for the one I want. I have 2 currently (Rock Island Armory Tactical and a Ruger SR1911) but tend to shoot the revolver more because .38 is cheaper than .357 or .45 up here in AK.

Good looking 1911 btw. So long as you have good mags and ammo it'll last to the end of the world and back.

Was about to start reading, but then I read " For my own purposes, all cursing (other than a few Brittish words) will be omitted. "

3902756

Yeah. I'm a 1911 fanboy (GUN NUT POWER!!!! (are you a gun nut?)). I can understand why you'd rather have the .38 special because of money problems. Try .22, .380, .32, or 9mm. They're pretty cheap. If you have money, the Desert Eagle is pretty fun to shoot but the ammo is $2.50 a pop. 50 BMG is also fun to shoot but cost $5 a pop. 20mm cannon is REALLY fun to shoot but costs $25 a pop.

3902788 I sold guns for years, I have a wide variety. It just boils down to availability in Alaska. I haven't seen most calibers on the shelf for cheap in over a year. .223 is .50 a pop for the cheapest stuff and .22lr can't be found. It sucks. :pinkiesad2:

Almost out of reloading components too.

3902793

Order through mail/internet/supplier. You'll be amazed by what can be air lifted/delivered to you.

3902806 No go to Alaska. Any ammo or other hazmat has to go on the barge to ship stuff up. Can't even truck through Canada anymore. Unless I was going to buy a pallet worth, it isn't cost effective.

So, I like the idea of this story, I really do, It has potential.

But M8.
You need a god-damn Proof-Reader, Please.
Don't mean too sound rude or anything, Just a friendly suggestion.
I'm keeping track of the story In hopes writing will improve.

~LR

3902855

Haven't you been paying attention? This guy WAS the proof reader. The original author (who wrote the first chapter) gave the reigns to this guy, who will be writing it his own way from now on(with guidance from the original author). We're just going to have to wait and see on how it turns out.

No cursing eh? Kind of odd for a military fic. Regardless, I'm glad to see somebody is continuing this, especially one of JWR832's former editors.
3902241 SEAL is not a branch. Navy is a branch, SEAL is just an occupation within that branch. Anyway, I hope being a badass works out for you. Also, I'm not sure if your recruiter has told you this, but you should pick a different job, then apply for SEALs after you've finished Basic and the training for that other job. This way if they don't have a team they can place you on you will have something to do until they find somewhere to put you.

3901763

Twilight groaned. "I'm going to have to give that pony a serious lecture about crashing through my windows..."
Roach had just finished re-inserting the clip of his last Beretta magazine when Ghost started to stir. Roach was thankful for his return to consciousness,

That transition...

CONGRATS ON THE FEATURE YOU MAGNIFICENT SON OF A BITCH

3902793 If it makes you feel any better, .22lr is hard to find in Michigan too, and it's easy to ship stuff here.

3902820 If you have some gun nut friends in need of ammo you can pool your money together and buy a pallet.

I squee'd so hard when I saw this. While I'm not what you'd call a CoD fanboy, I really, really enjoyed the single player. MW2, in my opinion, is the best game they've made in the series, both in gameplay and storyline. It's good to see these two back in action, because it broke my heart when they burned.

I think I'll just go replay the entire campaign now. On Veteran.
