This is very enjoyable so far! I'm excited to read more.

Accepted into the Sibling Story Stockpile.

oh THIS is gonna be good! :rainbowlaugh:

It's the epic battle of Irony vs Rarity with all us readers getting the victory.

:derpyderp1::pinkiegasp::rainbowderp::twilightoops:
Wow. My head canon has her as Diamond Tiara's sister, but this is just... wow.

Well, I can see this being a short story. If I were Rarity I'd just turn around, go home and forget about her. Simple really but effective.

The resemblance is uncanny.

This makes way too much sense... Can't wait for the next chapter!

Just one thing though...isn't the term, half-sister?

3815987

Technically speaking, yes.

Stepsisters are only related by marriage while half-sisters are related biologically. So, if Pearl and Magnum married and had two children before they met each other, those two children would be stepsisters. But since Rarity is both Magnum and Pearl's biological daughter, Suri is her half-sister, since she shares the genes of her mother.

However, a bond by blood is (arguably) symbolically more intimate in terms of relationships. Stepsisters sound like two parties forced to live in one house because the parents loved each other (Note that this shouldn't be taken seriously at all, since I know people who are closer to their step-siblings then their half-siblings).

So while Suri may not be her stepsister, she definitely feels like one for Rarity. After all, how can the Element of Generosity be biologically related to a mare like that? A mare that appears to be her polar opposite?

But we'll delve more into that later...

3814034

That was my first thought too. The attitude and similar color scheme screamed that she was related to Diamond and that she was either a sister, mother, cousin, father (wait:rainbowderp:) scratch that last part.

Anyway I see sister as being more fitting. But other then personality and a similar coat, we could just as easily connect Diamond with Screwball or that pegasus coach from Cloudsdale in "Rainbow Falls".

Of course...there's also rumors that a certain pegasus :scootangel: might be her sister.

So Suri Polomare is Rarity's sister?
In a story by Suri Polomare?
Does this count as self insert?:trollestia:

That's a great observation. Nice job!

Hmm, this'll be interesting. And tons of fun to look forward to. How scary how closely Pearl and Suri resemble one another. I think I'll be accepting this headcannon now, too.

3816118

Yes, still, you chose a different, less thought of but still believable and creative idea, and it's good. I applaud your work, and hope to see more ever melodramatic laugh out loud moments.

Suri Polomare just stood there, a sly smirk plastered on her face. “Well...well...well...hello, sister.”

:raritydespair:

Oh this looks priceless! I can't wait to read it when I get back :pinkie happy:

Added:
Yup that was great!

English teacher says "uhkay" after every other sentence
SURI POLOMARE

I'm your sister...okay?

MIND CANNOT COMPREHEND WHAT I HAVE JUST READ! IMMEDIATE SHUTDOWN COMMENCE! :applejackconfused:

if I was rarity:

*slams door closed* I have no step sister. only sweetie bell.

Suri Polomare, daughter of Pearl and older sister of Rarity moved to Manehattan where she married the older Filthy Rich for his wealth. After Filthy discovered Suri's long history of laundering money from his buisness, they devorced. Soon after, Filthy took their daughter, Diamond Tiara, to Ponyvillle in hopes of raising her in a friendlier enviroment. Sadly though, Diamond Tiara took more than her looks from her mothers side, growing into a rich and snobby filly that her father couldn't bare to discipline...

It would be the perfect headcanon if it weren't for the fact that Filthy was born and raised in Ponyville...

3828580 He moved to Manehatten perhaps? It'd work quite well.

3828580

This makes a scary amount of sense, headcanon accepted :raritystarry:

I’m not a psycho, m'kay. The therapist just says I have some social issues and an inability to develop a sense of morality.”

Errr... Suri, those are the traits of psychopathy. :facehoof:

3911627 I believe the term is sociopathy.

Wow! Suri has no empathy at all. You've made her really interesting.

3911675
How does it go?
"I'm not a psychopath. I'm a high functioning sociopath."

Well this has been interesting, though I can see why Suri might feel the way she does about her mother.

“Mature? What was so mature about leaving me in an orphanage, huh? What's so mature about never answering any of the letters I gave to Mrs. Breezy? What's so mature about being there for me at all? Huh? Only now. Only when I've achieved true fame and crushed my opponents, does she wish to answer my call? Only now? Call her mature if it makes you feel better, Rarity. But don't try to implant that false past in my mind, kaay?”

What's that? An attempt to round out her past and make her more of a sympathetic character? Nope, sorry, not buying it. :pinkiecrazy:

Suri seems a bit overblown to be honest, it's one thing to be ruthless but you're pushing too hard to make her look like an ass to the point where she seems unreal, remember she is also highly successful so she is not like she's just incapable of interacting with others.

3913820
I did. After all she had been abandoned all her life and the few times she tried to reach out to her mother she never got a reply. If she was part of a loving family then maybe she wouldn't be the cold hearted bitch that she is today.

3914041
Well, even highly successful people don't always treat the help well. She was excessively nasty to the trolley lady but it's not like she's involved in the fashion industry... or even knows Suri's name, which prevents badmouthing her brand.

I won't say it's unrealistic but it does seem unnecessary, though, as there's no profit in it. Unlike stealing from Rarity or overworking her assistant, it doesn't help her any. Well... I suppose it gets her a latte, but starting out buttering her up beforehand could have helped too and she started with the insults.

Ouch. One hopes Suri gets some character development eventually, it's easy to see she's jaded and bitter from life in the big city and being abandoned but dang is she getting it out of her system in the wrong way.

You've done a wonderful job making her easy to hate with her treatment of the server.

From futurama:

ha ha ha- oh wait you're serious? Let me laugh even harder. AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Rarity squealed in delight. A sister! She’d been secretly hoping she’d get another sister. Brothers were too annoying anyway.
