In the breakaway state of Unicornia, a certain somepony is in grave danger, and completely unaware. Twilight, Pinkie, Mac, and Braeburn attempt to retrieve her from a speakeasy under the ownership of the Unicornian Platinum Council, a gang/political party bent on asserting the racial superiority of the more magical tribe. Will it be a routine snatch-and-run mission, or will conflict from the past arise to put their lives in danger?

I doubt many people will read this, considering the broken promises that are The Curse of the Wolf Pony and One Honest Mare unfinished, but I owe you folks who are still paying attention an apology.
I despise excuses, and I would like to think this is an explanation of my failings as I writer instead of an excuse, but take it as you will. Basically, I only just learned how to plan a story. Until now, all I wrote were essays (so many essays) and flash fiction. These require different planning than short stories or novels, and I never realized this. Now I know that you basically need to plan two stories when writing fiction length longer than flash, one for the protagonists and one for the antagonists. Boy, did I feel silly when I realized this was from where all my trouble finishing these stories came.
So, I apologize. You deserved a better writer, rather than putting your hopes in me. As such, I will not be posting on this site until I properly plan and finish both The Curse of the Wolf Pony andOne Honest Mare.
Ps. I'm sorry if that link ruined the contrite tone of this post, I really can't help being a goofy fucker

Sorry for the 5 month wait for a new chapter. I was working on another project and finding a job. It looks like I've found one, which is nice, and the project (a tabletop RPG ruleset) is at the point where I don't need to devote a significant portion of my time to move it along. So, it looks like I'll have much more time for writing in the future.

Hey guys! I've submitted a new story, which should be up soon, and those of you who are wanting One Honest Mare updates are probably wondering why I'm working on something other than it. Thing is, it's really pissing me off. At the moment, I could make it a great action story. There's nothing wrong with that, because that's pretty much where I am at the moment as a writer. Problem is, that's also where I'm stuck as a writer. I want there to be actual character development in the story, and everything I try to write has got none of that. It's just action and situational humour. Which, again, would not be bad if I wasn't trying to get out of the rut that has me only writing those kinds of stories. It's not technically on hiatus, I just hate everything I write for it at the moment.
As a piece offering, please enjoy these links to absurdity that I found while looking for a cover image for the new story. The search term uniting them is 'Giant wolf.'
Apparently the naval abominations in the last link are actually curious and friendly. I still see them as another reason to stay the fuck away from the ocean.

Some of you may have noticed that One Honest Mare has been updated, kind of. I moved the two chapters so far into one short story. This chapter will be followed by another short story from Spike's perspective. Has anyone read Casual Vacancy? That's kind of what I'll be going for here: a series of connected, but independent stories telling a larger, over-all story.
I don't have a job yet, but both the RCMP and the Canadian Military are seriously considering me, so I'm pretty much just waiting now. Which means I'm back and have time to write again. Hope you enjoy!

Long story short, I don't have the time I want to be able to devote to these stories. My life is kind of in limbo at the moment, and I'm spending all of my time at my desk, preparing a portfolio to use as a freelance writer. I'm either working on articles or original fictional content. If I'm not writing, I'm looking for a regular job. If I don't find one this month, I'm probably moving back in with my parents.
Good news is that if I can get some regular work going, whether as a freelancer or in a paid position, I should have time to write purely for pleasure. The when of that, though, is completely up in the air.
Thank you, all of you, for reading these stories. Your comments and interest brightened my day in a difficult, stressful time of my life. I hope to come back and participate in this wonderful community soon.
