T

Time Turner; he maintains the clocks, fixes watches, and adjusts the hourglasses. He makes sure everything related to keeping time is done correctly.

At the end of each year, however, he goes to the Ponyville center and brings out the most important utensil of the entire time-keeping world— a giant hourglass, one that has enough sand to last the entire year.

Now it's that time of the year again.

Don't think so, but, happy new year, Regi. Got a catchy song for you.

3713659 it's still new years eve here, cut me some slack

I appreciated the Doctor Who references (especially as a new fan of that show), and I enjoy seeing the characterization of Time Turner as a pony who just wants something more out of his life. A fresh interpretation of a fan-favorite character is always welcome  Happy New Year to you all!

Calling from 2014. What's it like in the past, in 2013? :rainbowlaugh:

3713724 only just got into the show in November myself; I get tired of seeing Time Turner as the Doctor, so I figured I might as well poke some fun. :derpytongue2:

I WAS going to include Roseluck, but that would have just been pushing it :rainbowlaugh:

Weirdly, at the bottom of the page is an ad for Authentic Antique E. Howard & Co. Clocks.

I submit that you are truly in tune with the universe.

3713770 was there every any doubt :ajsmug:

Ah, it's nice to see a Time Turner story without there being a "real" Doctor Whooves.

You get my favs.

so... any new year resolutions?

3714053 Yes; to use less listerine, my mouth is still numb from this morning.

This was beautiful.

I mean, this was fast at first, and then it became mystically slow. Maybe it's the song I'm listening to right now, but I was overwhelmed with this story. The characterization was good, and mystical enough to hide what's really going on inside of him—only he knows that, but we know some of the profundity that's happening. The setting was good, and the pacing was excellent. I will admit that I didn't get any of the Doctor Who references, if there were any (besides the TARDIS; that I've heard enough times to know about), but I enjoyed this story nonetheless.

This should be a staple in holiday fimfiction. That is my honest opinion.

Bravo, and a happy, prolific, profound, powerful new year to you.

3714285 Thank you so very much. Minimal knowledge of Doctor Who is required to read it, I just felt like making fun of the people who like Doctor Whooves so much. :pinkiehappy:
You should watch the show, though, it's a wonderful thing.

If you can believe it, I just wrote this on a whim— I figured that a story about the new year should be written, so I went and wrote it. 3 hours and no editing later... here you all are.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Ah, a beautiful story to end another year. 2014, ready thine defences, the Bronies are rolling in.

I really enjoyed this story. :pinkiehappy:

Every time I read a Doctor/Time Turner Story. I hear him in a English accent.:rainbowderp:

3727154 who knows, he could be from Trottingham.

I generally enjoy thoughtful stories, and this is no exception. I also very much like seeing stories about Time Turner rather than The Doctor/Doctor Whooves. I don't watch Doctor Who, but I've been meaning to check it out. I do know a few things, though, so I was able to appreciate at least some of the references here. I have nothing against The Doctor being ponified as one sees quite a lot around here, but it's nice to see a story where this isn't the case, simply because it doesn't seem like it's done often enough.

Time Turner is an interesting character here. I get this sense like I'm missing something here, like there's something just out of my reach that I can't quite grasp, mostly just because of the Mayor's last lines. I wonder if something abnormal is going on(Groundhog Day came to mind), or if this is really just a story about a stallion who is a unsatisfied with the monotany of his life. I'm probably just reading into it too much, though; that does happen sometimes.

Anyway, this was a great story. Short, thoughtful, and a bit different from the other works out there about this character. Nice work.

3843459 hehe, thank you! Doctor Who is fucking marvelous, you should check it out.

I personally am in a somewhat similar disposition to Doctor Whooves. One thing I cannot stand is that he's so often shipped with Derpy, or that she ends up being his companion. If I ever write a (proper) Doctor Whooves story, things'll be MUCH different.

The thing I set up with Time Turner here is that he feels as though he's not really worth that much. However, like the somewhat pretentious saying said by Clockwork, every cog in the clock has a place. I'm a firm believer is this philosophy: You're more important than you think you are.

Doctor Who is definitely on my short list of shows to watch.

Yeah, I never really got why people pair those two together so much. And I can certainly understand Time Turner's feelings here. A relatable position, questioning your own worth is. And that's a good philosophy, even if it can be a touch hard to believe sometimes.

3713484 I actually know a guy who met the lead singer of Death Cab For Cutie, he was road manager for a band and they shared an almost identical touring schedule with The Postal Service.

3975801 I would imagine that got a bit hard, seeing as the singer is IN the postal service. (both awesome bands, by the way)

Oh my god, I love your stories. Everytime I read one...
