When dark creatures begin appearing in Equestria, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna summon the bearers of the Elements of Harmony to Canterlot. Before the six ponies can arrive, though, four strange ponies are expelled from a portal that appears in the throne room, and they explain that Equestria is not the only place at risk from these creatures. Thus begins an adventure that will reveal a greater destiny for Ponyville's librarian than she could have ever dreamed of.

So it's another KH crossover, eh? Well, before I read it I need to ask you one thing: this isn't gonna be another stupid "Heartless invade Equestria, Keybladers save Equestria, everyone goes home happy" fic, is it? I've seen so many KH crossovers and all but one of them have been terrible, and that one hasn't been updated in months so I assume it's been abandoned. I'm sick of seeing KH fics where they stay in Equestria the whole time; I want to see one where the Mane Six are the ones traversing the galaxy, visiting different Disney worlds, and saving the worlds from the Heartless. After all, that's what made KH so perfect, not just the story but the diversity of worlds and the novelty of battling alongside all those beloved Disney characters and fighting the various Disney villains. Come on, man, don't let me down like so many others have.
Good start, but you need to study up on Old English pronouns. Thee = 'you', as the subject of the sentence. Thou = 'you' otherwise. Thy = 'your'. Thine = yours.
Definitely a good start. I'm curious to see where you're planning on taking this, especially since you've also got the Annals of Darkness to work on. Nevertheless, this looks very promising. I've been disappointed by the other Kingdom Hearts crossovers on this site, but knowing you, that's about to change. Keep up the good work!

To all of you, you obviously do not know me, but don't worry; you will. As Shadow Horizons and Xeddrief up there can attest to this, I am confident in saying that you will be getting something that will blow your bucking minds.
My main fanfiction writing has been with Kingdom Hearts, and I am so thoroughly versed and practiced in writing it that I can work just about anything into it and make it work. I've practically got a full on crossover with Lord of the Rings about to start in The Annals of Darkness as well as having given Sora and Kairi Digimon Partners and Crests (making them first season Digidestined, oh yeah!), Sora automail, Keyblades Shikais, Bankais, and personalities; and am bringing everybody together in a full-scale war against Maleficent and the Heartless involving multiple Cornerstones. The multiple Cornerstones even includes making the Elements of Harmony into one.
I came up with a way to get ponies fully involved in that story that's been on the go for five years and counting, and I am guaranteeing you that I've already got plans for this one on reasons to get the ponies off of Equestria and into the world-hopping fun of saving the universe!
These here are two somethings that I even wrote on the fly in a ff.net pm to Shadow Horizons a while back to showcase a little of my intentions, at least as far as Annals of Darkness goes. In this one at least a few of them are leaving Equestria. I can't have them not leave. I won't have enough fun with the story if they don't!
(1)Namine: "You wanted to see me, sir?"
Cpt.(N) Heartman: "Yes, Your Highness, it's about this...Cornerstone we acquired the other week."
Namine: "Yes? What about them?"
Cpt. Heartman: "Well, to be perfectly honest Princess Namine, they're a real disturbance to the discipline on my ship."
Namine thought back a little bit. "How so?"
"Well, for a start," said the Captain, "two days ago I entered the Officers' Mess, and all of a sudden I was bombarded with confetti and streamers and balloons and the tooting of horns as one of them yelled, 'SURPRISE! It's a 'getting off work' party, silly!'"
Namine placed her fingertips to her forehead. "Yes, that would be Pinkie Pie."
"Another one is roaming around, kicking bulkheads and lockers an' complainin', dang it I'm even beginning to speak like her, that there are no apples to buck..."
"Applejack," Namine added, her fingertips sliding further along her forehead.
"Another has befriended all the chocobos in the stables and has tried twice to prevent their riders from taking them out to battle because she doesn't want to see them get hurt, and their riders have complained because they don't want to see HER look so depressed..."
"Fluttershy..."
"A fourth has been criticizing every single uniform she's come across and has even taken the liberty of designing new ones and trying to get the staff on board to implementing them..."
"Rarity..."
"And just yesterday we had to scramble a flight of Arrows and order the Ocean to bring back the fifth one after she hijacked an Arrow to go off hunting Heartless ships on her own, and she's been flying in the corridors so quickly that she's sent four people to the sick bay with minor blunt force trauma injuries."
"And Rainbow Dash," Namine finished. She waited for a second for the Captain to continue and then said, "Nothing on Twilight Sparkle?"
"Well, she DID cause that repair droid to malfunction when she tried to use magic to speed up repairs," he admitted, "but on the whole, no problems with her."
"I don't have any problems with any of them," Namine said, "and it seems to me that they're making life here more interesting."

"Yer Highness!" Namine looked towards the voice as Applejack burst into the room, panting heavily.
"Whoa, Applejack," said Twilight Sparkle, "what's got you all uppity?"
The earth pony looked between Twilight and Namine, only a little surprised to see both of them there. "It's Applebloom," she said. "I've been looking all over for her, but I can't find so much as a hair from that 'lil filly's mane, and nopony's seen her either."
"Applebloom?" Namine asked. "But I just saw her about an hour ago."
"Where?" Applejack demanded frantically.
Twilight clipped and clopped her way along the Starlight's floor to the distraught older sister. "Don't worry Applejack, we'll find her."
"I don't think so," Namine whispered aloud as she remembered where she'd seen Applebloom, and the other two Cutie Mark Crusaders. "When I saw her, she, Sweetie Bell, and Scootaloo were in Hangar 3, watching as Riku's team got ready to take off."
Applejack and Twilight both gasped. "Come on then!" Cried Applejack. "We gotta let Riku an' 'em know that they've got a few stowaways on board!"

Also, if you're having the characters in an all-out war against the Disney villains, I have a great idea for a villain for them to face. Here's the idea: the villains resurrect all five of the Titans from Hercules (except maybe the cyclops one) and merge them together into a single Compound Titan. My design for it has the legs of the Ice Titan, the arms of the Tornado Titan, the torso and heads of the Rock Titan, and a volcano growing up out of its back courtesy of the Lava Titan.

This story, Guardians of Magic, is completely unrelated to the other story, The Annals of Darkness. I was just saying that I had found a way to give ponies a major role in a story that I'd already been working on for five years with numerous plans still to implement and many other epic things having already occurred. What I was trying to get across is that you have nothing to fear about this being an "Equestria only" world in a Kingdom Hearts fic. I can make worlds end with everypony being happy, but I like it if I can find ways to get characters off their butts and out of their worlds to help save the damn universe and fight the bad guys. My Sora and Kairi eviscerate the concept of World Order.

I haven't checked out any other KH/MLP crossover fics on this site or Fanfiction.net, at all, so I only have everypony's word for it that most of them aren't very good. Your making this a very good start of KH crossover story and I'm liking it a lot. I'm a bit sad though because earlier I made a KH crossover story like 3-5 days ago involve with Roxas in all. When I found your story, I decided to track it.
After reading this chapter, I'm slightly losing grip of my story now. Still I'll work on it, but it would be the first and last probably. Besides, you are the only one I believe will make this KH/MLP story the best so....keep going please

Dude, I've even mentioned the Horned King in The Annals of Darkness already. Heith was telling Thessaura that Sora and the others would be very hard pressed to fight off both the Lich King and the Horned King after Maleficent's downfall if they were to lose Kairi. He's one of the next two big villains: Arthas and the Horned King. Frostmourne and the Black Cauldron. The Restless Scourge and Cauldron-born!

Actually, the Black Cauldron is based off of the books, and the Horned King has got to be one of the most underrated Disney villains of all time, mostly just due to the lack of exposure that the Black Cauldron has had due it its failure at the box office when it came out. It's easily a cult classic of the Disney animated films, but John Hurt voices the Horned King so well! His voice turns that character into unleaded nightmare fuel.

Don't worry about taking too long on the next AoD chapter. Hell, it's taken me two months on the next chapter of Looming Darkness and I'm only half-way done! Admittedly, I've had writer's block, but it's amazing what can be solved by watching Castle.
On a side note, I find it awesome that you posted a KH chapter on the 10th anniversary of the original release of Kingdom Hearts.

Oh yes. Almost all of the Sora, Riku, Kairi, Rei part was written in the span of five hours on Saturday after Hurricane Fluttershy finished. But, I've been writing Sora, Riku, and Kairi for five years now so they just flow out of me.

Well, when I wrote my Cupcakes sequel, Little Bakery of Horrors, the entire story went from concept to completion in less than a day and still ended up over 6000 words long, and since I don't write very often it's easy to understand how someone can manage 12000 in three days. Different people write at different rates, and it's nothing to be ashamed of if you don't write very fast.

I don't know anything about this "Kingdom Hearts" thing, but I guess I'll go find a playthrough on Youtube.
This story is nice, but I get the feeling that you won't understand it as well if you don't know about the "Kingdom Hearts" thing that this is a crossover with.
I stumbled across this at the front of Equestria Daily, saw Shire Folk and immediately thought "I recognise that pen name!" And I have to say that this is written beautifully, and got that warm, satisfied feeling that I get whenever I read a chapter of AoD. I am definitely tracking this.
One critic I'll have about it is the info dump at the end of Chapter 3, that bit felt rushed and more to the point disjointed. Still, as long as you keep writing I'll keep reading.
Oh, I have a couple of questions too if you don't mind me asking. Is Rei a biological relation to Sora in this universe or is it more akin to AoD (There's enough differances that I'm just assuming this is AU to the Annals.)
