Now this is story makes me proud of Rarity for being there Spike
, and ashamed of the other Mane Six, even sweet, kind, shy Fluttershy! 
I applaud Rarity for stepping up and showing that she is indeed the Element of Generosity and being a true true friend to Spike.

This is a nice one-shot. And reformatting it as a single chapter was a huge improvement.
Wow he really is a bit of an emotional wreak he just leaves a letter instead of telling her then leaving sounds like he was ashamed of his feelings for her.
Eh, too many questions for me to really enjoy this. I love a good Sparity, but where was Twilight? She's a huge part of Spike's life, and just ignoring her in this seems really silly and out of character for Spike. After all, we know for a fact that being abandoned by Twilight is his greatest fear.
It just feels a bit bland and overdone. There is nothing really separating this from many of the other Sparity stories except that flaw. That isn't to say it is bad, but it is a bit lack luster.

Twilight doesn't care for Spike? His mother/sister? Applejack doesn't care for him? She saved his life! Fluttershy doesn't care for him? She was interested in him the second she met him! The others don't care for him? They gave him tons of gifts! I believe that this story needs the alternate universe tag. I mean, Spike's biggest fear was losing Twilight! I agree with 3689167

before i said anything, just have to say this: doubt that nobody loves spike. i mean, just look at all the gifts they gave him for his birthday for example.
now, that that is done, i liked it. really didn't expect that outcome going in to reading this one-shot, but i liked it. a bit annoyed with some of the grammatical errors here and there, mostly in his letter, being that he's twilight's assistant and all should mean that he should be alright when it comes to grammar, but they were things that didn't take too much out of the story.
