So in your version, by being sent into the moon, Princess Luna was sent to another world?  (In this case, Earth.)  I actually have a similar idea, but the world isn't Earth, it's Xanth.  (Actually that's just where she ends up, at first she's just sent to the next world in the chain of the Moons of Ida/Worlds of the the Idea.  My idea has Equestria as one of them.  In order to understand pretty-much any of what I just said, you need to be at least a little familiar with Pierce Anthony's "Xanth" series.  I highly recommend it.  I must warn you however, read it only if you are a sucker for Pun-ishment.)
